The first movie of the series that you mentioned with Bryan Cranston is simply "Godzilla" from 2014 and is set in the present. "Kong Skull Island" is a prequel to the entire franchise and you just saw that it's set in the 70s! "Godzilla King Of The Monsters" does not start from here, but follows the events of the 2014 movie, so it's still set in the present! I suggest you to rewatch "Godzilla" before "Godzilla KOTM", if you don't remeber very well the story! Anyway I loved your reaction and see you getting empathy and emotionals for Kong! I'm totally Team Kong!!! He's a gentle giant with a big heart and I love him!!! I can't wait to see Godzilla VS Kong! I hope that nobody of them will die, but I always will prefer Kong!
