Hi lovely peeps,
This week has been ridiculous, and time to make art scarce, so I apologise for the lack of Daily Doodle updates. I haven't been very good at keeping up with that exercise in the last couple of weeks.
But here is my latest batch :)
One thing I have learned in my years of doing this little exercise is that if I am struggling to show up for it, it's usually because I have started setting my expectations for it too high.
It is usually a good time to remind myself that this is supposed to be a casual, low pressure, fun way to start my days, and not a challenge or obstacle. So if it starts feeling that way, I need to re-evaluate my mindset and analyse why I am tensing up and coming in my own way.
So as you can see in this batch, I kept to low detail, rougher drawings, and didn't delve too deep into concepts or studies. I did my best to stay loose and stopped when the effort needed to keep at it became too much and I could feel myself loosing energy and getting stiffer.

Re-adjusting my perspective and showing to myself that drawings that don't take much effort are also fun and valuable, if only because they allow me to reach a small personal goal, is a beneficial mindset shift that allows me to lift the pressure I can put on myself if I go too long without reflecting on things.

So overall, this isn't my most polished batch but it was meant as a way to re-acclimate myself to the exercise and to the daily habit after a period of time focusing on other heavier things, and so far it has worked.
I hope you are all well,
I will have a painting process update for you tomorrow, and a little mini-poll soon also!
Sending you all my love,
M
