Daily Doodle Diary 2021 #4

Hello peeps,

Here's another batch of Daily Doodles!

The past few weeks have not been my greatest, my mental health isn't all too great, and I am generally struggling to keep up with small daily tasks, so I have missed more days than I wish I had lately.

But I have tried my best, and sometimes that's all that can be done. That in itself is an energising thought to keep going.

In this batch, I focused on some quick pose studies of more complicated movements and some foreshortening, and then let loose a little the last couple of days with some very messy idea sketches.
I have been getting back into sketching slowly and finding my love for concept exploration again. I hope to get back into my proper sketchbook very soon. I will definitely have new fuller sketches to share in the coming weeks.

All in all, this batch is not my proudest as far as consistency and technical skill, but I am satisfied with the fact that it represents me attempting my best during a time of particularly exhausting inner turmoil.

I missed the Sunday drawing but extended my Monday doodles onto the Sunday page anyway, as I was really enjoying these studies of gymnasts,.

Do any of these sketches appeal to you more than others?

I would love to hear what you think!

Sending you all my love,

M

19 is the ONE πŸ‘

Thanks Diana! I didn't really have a proper think about the significance of the sketch for the time being, as I am still exploring how best to express the idea that's been floating in my head for a few weeks now, but I'd say inner child feels quite accurate. I have a lot of struggles with my inner child that stem from childhood trauma, so learning to take care of that inside me probably surfaces in my work, which makes sense. Thank you for the kind words, they mean a lot :)

Thank you Desiree :) I'll be ok, I am not struggling in any way that isn't simply a result of the ridiculous year we've had so far. It'll get better :) Your boy sounds so wonderful!

Thanks Keeter! I've been trying it out in a few sketches in my main sketchbook too, I'll share those soon !

I love the sketch with the grown up/child in blue background, it was a nice suprise as I haven't seen such a theme from you. Is it about being a parent? Or about our inner child? In any case, So sorry you haven't been well, these are tough times indeed. I hope you will feel better soon and remember, doing the best you can is good enough.

I'm so sorry you're struggling right now. I'm thinking of you. I really like the concept of 22. To me it reminds me of my little boy. He's my heart and soul come to life

I just love the concept of March 22!

Keeter
