Hi peeps!
I have finished the little coaster paintings and they are now on their way to Oregon for their show in September!
I ended up painting a Sneyel (see what I did there XD) instead of the eye in the crystal, as I wasn't super confident with the design yet. I'll re-explore it in the future I think though. I think it could make a cool sticker or pin. Once I figure out how to design my pin...
Talking of stickers, I haven't made a new one in a little while, what would you think of a sticker of the Sneyel? Let me know what you think in the comments :)
These little guys will be exhibited as part of the Out of Step Books & Gallery Coaster show in September.
The show opens on September 7th, and will last until October 19th.
The venue is
Out of Step Gallery
1022 Willamette St
Eugene, OR 97401
Each coaster is for sale for about $60, so if any of you in the area want to pop by and get your own, you can! :) And if you go, I'd love a picture of my art up!
This is my first time being invited to participate in a show, and I am quite excited about it. I submitted my work to 2 of their upcoming books, and they liked my work so much they asked if I would like to, not only participate in their coaster show, but also potentially exhibit some of my work in their permanent gallery!
They are opening up their gallery space for the first time in August, and although I wasn't able to put anything together for their opening, I will definitely be sending the, something for the future.
If you are not familiar with Out of Step here's their website so you can check them out in more detail. They publish fantastic books!
IN OTHER NEWS
All the June physical rewards shipped last week-end, so the are on their way to you.
I am still working on the Strathmore videos (they are very time intensive), so it's possible I won't be able to get all rewards for July done in time, but I'll do my best to get as many as I can done before the end of the month and will work my butt off in August to make sure I catch up with any delay!
Right now, it's finally raining outside, after days of heavy, cloudy muggy weather with clouds begging to burst, so, although I always prefer sun, it does feel refreshing to see rain, and it makes working at home feel extra cosy. :)
My boyfriend is away at the moment on a business trip, so I'm on my own and working long hours on my course, with my constantly filled cup of tea as my only companion. It had been a very long time since I last spent a few days without talking to anyone, and although I do miss my lovely boyfriend, I also do enjoy being completely on my own sometimes and this weather is accentuating the feeling of being a hermit, and I love it.
I hope you are all well and that you like my little coasters,
Take care everyone, and I'll see you very soon.
Love, M
