2024 Preseason Top 30 Yankees Prospects

Comments

Thank you, Mike.

John, Anthony, Fini

So, so compelling. It type psyched me up for the season.

DOUGLAS ELDREDGE

Thanks Mike, I can’t praise your work enough. So much weekly content, so much excellent quality. You’re a treasure.

Max P.

Good point. I guess after a few years of the control not coming around enough and a rough '23 left off a lot of his prospect shine in place of the exciting crop of FCL and DSL kids. Think he has another 2 years of org control to figure it out?

Chris

Really excellent work, as always, Mike. Thanks for continuing to provide great content for us!

John Moody

Is Uncle Ben not the most slam dunk nickname ever for Ben Rice

LZA

Great stuff, as always. This will require more than one reading over the weekend. Adding to the prospect rankings, Klaw published his team rankings today, and the Yankees came in at #7. I remember a year back when he ranked them around 16 or so he said they could be a top-ten farm in 2024 because they had some really interesting prospects at the lower levels. Looks like he was right. Let's hope some of these young guys continue to grow and hit it big.

I've half jokingly said that the introduction of TJS led to an increase in pitchers requiring TJS as suddenly there was less concern about giving max effort. At times when I flip through old-time pitching records, I'll on occasion run across a pitcher who was good for three, four, five years in a row and then they suddenly hit a wall the next year, and are gone from the game within a couple seasons. High likelihood that a number of them had UCL tears. Woke up one day with a bum elbow, rubbed some dirt on it, but it never came back.

Great work as always Mike. Couple thoughts. Was curious about Lombard, bit less so after reading the write up Jasson adds a switch hitter with a good eye, something that’s been lacking (aside from a when-healthy-Hicks) Jones is very exciting. Gives me Bellinger vibes

Dan G

Thanks Mike, awesome stuff as always. It's wild to see how many Bigfoot players are on the list this year - more mystery than fact at this point. Definitely excited to see more from Lalane and Arias in particular.

Tyler

Top 30 time means we are so back It's funny when a guy who made a team's postseason roster two seasons ago is the number 28 prospect.

John G

Really surprised that Justin Lange didn't make the top 30

Mike, long time reader, can’t emphasize enough how much RAB and now RAB thoughts has augmented my die hard fandom. Been more important than literally anything these years. This post is an example of the incredible work and dedication you put into creating such a strong product. I think I speak for all of us when I say, thank you! Not a subscription more worthy

Ryan Price

Another great effort Mike. I just finished my first read and it’s so good, I’ll go back for a second read this weekend!

David from Sunny Jax

I always book the top 30 article to reference throughout the season. This article alone is always worth Mike's Patreon fee for the year. Thanks Mike.

James

Amazing!! Thanks Mike!

John M

Cue up Andy Williams because it’s the most wonderful time of the year.

One thing that stands out on a list like this is how much health is a constant key factor for pitchers (and perhaps overall). It's amazing to me that pitchers had successful careers in baseball before modern medicine figured out how to fix things like UCL tears!

DZB

Quite a writing effort Mike. Well done.

Brian

Yay, another sign that ST is almost here - Mike’s top 30 list! Thanks for the work on this- looking forward to a weekend of reading this and looking for these prospects’ highlights on YouTube!

Mark Davis

Oh Boy!! I will read this slowly after I am fully awake. It is to be savored like a fine cigar and an aged bottle of wine. Thanks Mike!
