Hey folks,
I've been reflecting a lot on this past year, at the end of 2025 I had the opportunity to really dive back through my memories of the year in an interview with Phil Begnett. So many festivals, so many workshops, sooo much travelling and a whole heap of laughter, hugs, smiles and tears. I got to meet a lot of you, and I really felt held by the handpan community.
I'm so grateful for the opportunities I was given last year. Just a few highlights include:
working 1-1 with many handpan students through lots of inspiring and creative zoom sessions
enjoying facilitating many weekend classes with Bristol Handpan Academy
traveling to Australia, New Zealand and the USA with Rosie in our first tour together
building my own handpan with Tim Tom of Celestial Sound
epic summer festival season: PanOz, KiwiPan, Pantasia, Pangonia, Wild Naya Handpan Academy, Medicine Festival
USA tour with some of the most nourishing shows and workshops, including SuperBloom Women's Handpan Gathering - I can't even put it into words. wow. Shoutout to Sarah Paz Hyde. My dear friend, my biggest support, a huge inspiration.
getting some last bit of sun at Canaries Handpan Festival
fun projects: filming Handpanuary, rebuilding the studio and making dozens and dozens of YouTube videos, releasing a live PortaBanda album, exploring new handpan scales and collaborations, so many projects to count
moving out of the city to live in the countryside... aaahhh what a relief.
Anyway, all that to say...
There is NO WAY I would be able to comfortably tour, be in community, share my music and joy for teaching live without this Patreon support. Touring just doesn't make enough money to fund my life at home. Rent and bills while I'm gone, travel expenses, accommodation between events etc. It's getting harder and harder for musicians to make a living this way. But thanks to YOU, I can comfortably travel, knowing that I at least have the safety net of some income keeping me afloat.
I cannot express how grateful I am for this.
Thank you so much!
And there's more... so many of you have joined just in the first week of this year through the handpanuary project. Thank you for being here, for support me, for allowing me to keep making all this free educational content. There's no way it would be sustainable without you, you absolute legends.
I hope you'll stick around. I have some more exciting projects coming that I think you'll enjoy. More on that soon.
For now, if you're interested in hearing more about what I've been up to, you can check out this interview with Phil.
Big hugs, so much love,
Amy
