Aurora Australis and being ill on the road

Hey gang!

How's everyone doing?

I'm coming up to the end of this big ol' leg of tour together with Rosie Bergonzi. We've just landed in LA ready for Pantasia handpan gathering this weekend, and then it's time for home. After almost 2 months on the road, I feel ready.

These two photos were taken over two days at Kiwipan Festival over in New Zealand last weekend. My goodness what a beautiful celebration of music it was! And such an incredible experience to see the southern lights one evening.

But it wasn't all joy. I actually missed most of the festival due to being ill. It hit me pretty quickly and I was completely unable to teach together with Rosie. She did such an amazing job of holding down the fort and teaching a full day of workshops solo, and luckily by the third evening I was just well enough to play our show.

By the final morning, I felt myself again, and could offer a workshop. This photo encapsulates the joy I felt to finally be able to share in my passion.

It felt so strange to be detached from the festival that weekend. To have flown out to a new country and a new community to connect and share and celebrate, but to be completely unable to take part until the last day. It was really difficult for me to allow myself to rest, eventually my body just said no.

But I'm excited now to be preparing for Pantasia, to be well and resting and organizing a whole heap of videos and photos from our trip so far. I have SO much cool stuff to share with you all. Including some exclusive looks into our live workshops. Can't wait to share soon.
