There has been an ongoing debate about who actually directed the movie, but rest assured Spielberg was only involved as a producer while Tobe Hooper directed. Spielberg im sure had a lot to do with the hiring of effects people as a lot of the effects are inspired by that final sequence in Raiders of the Lost Ark. I’m looking forward to the Sons of Anarchy rewatch with you. I haven’t watched it since it was on originally.
