Same here!! Sobbed like a baby for a week straight thinking of the scene where Brienne finished Jaimie’s story. Absolutely beautiful. There are a couple things I liked that they did in the finale. The very first episode in season one the first scene was beyond the wall. The ended the very last shot beyond the wall too. I liked that. And excellent point. In her own way Dany still broke the wheel. PUMPED FOR HOD!!!

Tbh TA Slay I didn't watch this yet, because I don't like it lol. I just couldn't help but come to the comments to try and see what they thought, but it's mostly everyone's personal takeaways. 😅 I really wanna know what they particularly thought, but cannot for the life of me see these last few episodes again in their entirety 😅. I still love 1-6, cannot force myself to watch every second of 7-8, but my opinions still exist.

So HOTD does a good job of putting you into the timeframe of events. The book is told in a historical prospective. Think of Sam and the history of ice and fire book Tyrion starts to leaf through to see if he is mentioned.

Guys, I just want to say - if someone had told me half a year ago that I would pay for watching someone else react to this show, I would have never believed it. I wasn't disagreeing. I was actually confirming that your thoughts are probably exactly what was intended as the reasoning behind it (which they did not state really at all in the show), because of how GRRM thinks. The book stuff was just to add to the greenseer stuff which was not really explained in the show either, but adds to your speculation I thought. This is the first comment I've ever seen anywhere mentioning this reasoning, instead of just being sure it made no sense. I also never wanted Dany on the throne. My opinions about her arc are complicated. I wanted Jon to at least be offered and considered. And ultimately I didn't think anyone should be "king", but rather exactly what you said and I elaborated on with Bran just being a gawd like figure over existence.

I wouldn't know, I don't read the books. I love the show, but am not as die hard as the ones that love it so much they pick up the books. I just gave my thoughts on why I thought it made sense for Bran to be king. I've seen a lot of people hate that Dany died and that Bran was made king. I've seen people complain about Bran being "dead" and that his story wasn't all that great, but regardless of their criticisms, if there's a character that can look through visions to see how an event played out, then I'm sorry, but that's the character you want as king and judge. I also was never a big fan of Dany. I mean don't get me wrong, I loved the character, but I spotted her greed for power the moment she smiled when her husband spoke about raping the women of their enemies. Absolute power corrupts and power corrupts absolutely.

I kind of agree with this. Not with anything the show did, but that it's George's vision for Bran to be such a great Seer, that he can have the ultimate discernment and judgement over things based on their potential consequences. There's something in the books with the Maesters ushering in something with glass candles, along with Bryden Rivers (a Targaryen greenseer who I think they did say was the one in tree in the show), and other greenseers from all over, like the Reeds from the swamp areas, kind of all working on their own agendas, but that will ultimately culminate in long night defeat and some kind of restoration and peace coming over all lands. So Bran won't be a king, so much as a gawd like figure, but more Just than any other, to ensure peace among people for all generations to come. Based on book stuff, whatever George's ultimate ideas are, I'm on board and think they're the greatest. 😊

I'm of the thought that the storyline should have led to Jon being offered the throne, and him declining the throne and going north of the wall on his own, I feel like that would have been a cleaner character arc. He was the true heir to the throne, after all. Just my thought.

"He sees everything" This is exactly why he'd make the best king. He would have perfect judgment when no one else would. He knows the innocent from the guilty when people would come to his court to plead their case ect. He is the best choice as much as the GOT audience for the most part might hate it. It makes sense. He's like a "god"....like the "Lord of Light". I've heard people pose that he did all the Lord of Light did and if you think about it, it's plausible. Even events like where Sam had all those crows warning him of a white walker that was approaching to take little Sam could have been Bran. Interesting thought.

At the time this came out, we all knew D&D had rushed the # of episodes to move on to that star wars project. I agree season 8 was rushed but this was not a deal breaker for me. Still imo the most awesome series i've see in a long time! (the writing/connections/foreshadowing (look away & you've missed something important), amazing graphics, casting/character arcs, the soundtrack, even the battle scenes copied actual historical battle formations, the modern dialog, unlike typical medieval movies, (the hound called someone a twat? lol)). I also agree with the endings for each character, it all makes sense! Jon "never wanted it"! "he belongs in the north, "the real north". Also, people keep saying Bran can see the future but i think i recall someone from the writer's team saying he can only see past & present. Maybe i'm wrong but makes a difference when considering all that's happened to everyone, especially through season 8. he didn't put people through all that shit knowingly. I have enjoyed The Os reacts & comments through ALL of this and the fans on this channel are a really cool bunch of people! TY for sharing!!!

I could be wrong, I'm only giving my thoughts here. The dragon destroying the iron throne was extremely symbolic and I believe gave insight to how the dragon actually felt about the iron throne. I think he loved Dany so he did her bidding, but cared nothing for the throne and understood that all it brought was misery and death. So, he destroyed it forever. He didn't kill Jon because Jon was also a Targaryan which is why he was the best one to carry out the death of Dany. Dany claimed to want to rid the world of tyrants, but really just wanted to replace them all with herself. She never broke the wheel, her dragon did. She would have kept the wheel going. Everything she did that was "good" was for the purpose of benefiting herself and to gain more power. She was greedy for power from the get go and I was cautious of her the moment she smiled when her husband said he'd rape the women of his enemies. I liked her character, it was cool, and I'm sure she won a lot of the GOT audience over, but I was never convinced that she would make a good queen. Even in our own world, elites will often use what is morally good, just for their own benefits, to gain power, and even bring about evil results. Loved Dany, but she was never my fav and I don't blame Sansa one bit for always being concerned about her.

so, a few things to orient your experience. the books are the books the show is the show. Jon may have a very different ending and those who he might head off into the sunset with. keep a song of and fire in your mind always. remember that Dany should have died twice from burning and Jon did die. Why? also and finally, our author, wanted a shire ending to GOT! peter Jackson opted not to follow that. George took that to heart.

There are characters in HOTD that match or surpass Emilia Clark. One of them has been spending a lot of time with her in real life. 😉They did a good job of finding people with Targaryen characteristics for the prequel. In interviews after GOT the writers said that Drogon went to Volantis. There were deleted scenes of Danerys being pregnant in 8x5 but they scrapped the idea. The scene where Jon and Tormund leave the wall is a callback to season 1 the first scene of the nights watch men riding out of the wall. The last scene was all the families of the crew. They were allowed to have all their spouses and children in the scene as wildlings Kit Harrington talked about the fact that what made the decision for him to kill her was to protect Sansa and Arya. Sansa -“No one can protect me.” In the end, Jon did protect her at great cost to himself. Kit had to go into inpatient therapy he was so messed up when the show ended. He talks about it in interviews. The script table reading for season 8 is a great thing to watch. During the reading the actors find out Jon kills Dani and how Varys dies. I love the Coldplay video too. A rewatch on here would really be something no one else has done. I would love to see it. Hotd is just as good it’s a great way to refresh yourself and get knee deep into another great story from George RR Martin. Absolutely loved these reactions. You guys did a wonderful job. Looking forward to watching more from your channel.

When I first watched this last episode, I took a little time to ponder on all the outcomes. I realized that I was actually satisfied with where everyone ended up. Even Jon... Bran knew he was happiest when he was in the North (the real North). It made sense to me that Bran sent him there and for him to head North of the wall with the free folk. An episode comment rather than the series: Dragons are said to be very intelligent, more intelligent than men even. I believe that when Drogon flew down to Jon standing over Dany that he understood the situation. He understands that Dany did terrible things, and him along with it. Dany's actions were so evil that it turned a man who loved her into one who killed her out of duty. He hates Jon and is sad about the actions but understands. He melted the iron throne because it is the embodiment of what corrupted Dany and the exact thing she was trying to destroy. Also from my understanding, Bran doesn't just 'see the future' rather he only gets glimpses of possibilities not predetermined fate. He CAN see history though.

“I know a killer when I see one.” I mean, she did just murder untold thousands of people. A real astute observation, Arya. 🙄 Did Jon just walk out after killing Dany and just tell everyone? Wouldn’t the Unsullied and most definitely the Dothraki just execute him on the spot? “What’s west of Westeros?” I don’t know, ask Bran? He literally knows EVERYTHING. And why would he even need a master of whisperers, for that matter? D&D admitted that they had Bran say “Why do you think I came all this way?” because they thought it sounded cool and didn’t really consider the ramifications. It was a throwaway line like so many these past few episodes. Terrible writing. Terrible pacing. Everyone deserved better. I have this sneaking suspicion that the ending to the show came straight from GRRM. It made perfect sense for Bran to become the king, what made him seem so 'weird,' as the O's put it, is his lack of emotion. That is actually a trait that will make him a better ruler, he seems immune from all the petty emotions that humans bring to the table. Also, since the last Three Eyed Raven was around for a thousand years, it may be that Bran will rule for many generations providing a stability that normal kings cannot achieve. I also suspect that GRRM's failure to release his conclusion more than ten years after the series ended may be a product of him looking for another way to end it. He says the books end differently, but I am not so sure he has figured out how yet. The Octobers have been great hosts, thank you so much for sharing this journey with us.

If you think Dragon didn't kill Jon because he's a Targaryen, then you are forgetting History and Lore. If you rewatch them you'll see how many Targaryens were killed by dragons. Drogon leaving Jon alone was just show runners losing logic and sense. It's Drogon's mother. He lost his brothers and it was just his mother. The person he saw since his birth. Anyone who touches her will be killed. Remember in season 7 what happened when Jaime charged towards Dany? This was just a plot armour for Jon by the show runners. As if Drogon understands the politics behind the throne. See these are few of the many reasons why the final season is infamous.

It was awesome to see your reactions guys! You seem so friendly and funny and good. I really loved how you almost always saw two sides of the coin (is that even a saying in english?). When I watched the show the first time the emotions was so high that I forget so see many of the details. I just wanted the best for the north and I wanted Cersei to die a horrible death already from the start of the show! I say it again - season 1-4 is legendary maybe the best seasons of TV that I have ever watched. Season 5 is still awesome and season 6 gave me what I wanted, season 6 is not 10/10 I'l understand that but I still liked it very very much. It was with season 7 the problems started and when you rewatch the show it's just getting worse. I hate season 7 and 8 and fans have talked about to infinfity so I will just say: Thank you guys! Along with you guys, I never read the books so I was able to just watch the shows and enjoy them as their own saga. I thought the ending was ok, I was more irritated about how the production company didn't take advantage of 10 episodes in each of the last 2 season so they could at least make the time line less choppy. I think the writers missed an opportunity to give the dragons more of a intelligent part of Dany's story, they really just made them a weapon of destruction but then tried to sell that they were smart enough to know that the throne has some part of Dany's actions.

I'm a major hater of this season and especially the showrunners for how they handled their departure from the series but I'll leave it at that for this lol Overall its still the best show ever made and I absolutely adore this world GRRM created. I know it feels like the end but trust that there are so many sources of info to read about for more stories in this universe and you will feel so happy from the first scene of HOTD just to be back in this world again in it's prime. We've got an Aegon's conquest show coming in the next couple years as well so this is definitely not the end. With lore videos for HOTD personally I would stay away from it until after season 2, HOTD is a complete finished story unlike GOT and you're likely to see major spoilers if you go googling around.

And so....it comes to an end. Shew....I'm right there with you both...it's always a struggle to keep it together when you're so invested. It's ok....I get it. I didn't get the ending I wanted but who does? In real life...you don't always get the ending you want either. It's more about the journey than the destination. With that said....the books may end differently but we won't know until he finishes. I've watched this show many times through and with several reactors. I always feel that you begin to see the characters differently throughout the series once you know the ending. I actually purposely avoided this series because I didn't see my interest in it but I was so wrong. I could probably buy a new house if I sold my GOT collectables...and yes the theme song is my ringtone. Haha...I'm a nerd and I love it so i don't care what anybody else thinks. My biggest take away in the finale. 1. Ned and Jon made the same decisions about the Stark girls. Ned died and Jon killed. 2. I am willing to die on this hill, Bran is the true villain of this series. Not in a tyrant kind of way, but in an AI ruler where its all about objectivity. I believe he had an inclination of what might happen and planned every move to get to the ending he thinks will be better. Regardless if many people die or whoever is sacrificed. Which is why he is very adamant to let Jon know and the stark girls. He also knew about the dragon over kings landing. 3. With the help of Bran, the Starks pulled off the biggest power grab😅. Bran as king, Sansa as queen and Jon as potentially the king of the free folk. Awesome reaction guys! On to the next series

Sansa’s ending makes me tear up the most! The very first episode she said to her mom that being queen was the only thing she ever wanted. And she believed she had to go to kings landing to have that fate. And there they started to break her spirit. And from there on for so many years was humiliated, assaulted in more ways than one, manipulated, and so much more. And all of it making her appreciate what she had and took for granted. And she survived it all. Survived all her abusers. She’s back home, she’s safe and finally got what she wanted her entire life, and what she earned. Queen in the north 😭😭😭

I think the Lore of "The Dance of the Dragon/HOTD" tells a bit too much if you want to watch the show for the first time. I honestly suggest you watch that Lore a bit later or specific parts of that said lore, so you don't get spoiled. ;)

So HOTD does a good job of putting you into the timeframe of events. The book is told in a historical prospective. Think of Sam and the history of ice and fire book Tyrion starts to leaf through to see if he is mentioned.

last episode wasnt the problem, every step before it was lower quality writting from season 5 to the end. Jon is pretty much king beyond the wall like Mance was that wasnt bad at all, only the execution.

I'm of the thought that the storyline should have led to Jon being offered the throne, and him declining the throne and going north of the wall on his own, I feel like that would have been a cleaner character arc. He was the true heir to the throne, after all. Just my thought.
