As far as Samwell, I do believe that GRRM modeled him after another Sam, specifically Samwise Gamgee from LOTR. (the similarity between Samwell and Samwise is not by accident) As far as Gilly goes, she did find the truth about Jon's parentage, and it showed the limitations of Bran's visions. He thought Jon was still a bastard, until he heard about the annulment and marriage. He may be ABLE to see everything, but unless he looks for specifics, he can miss the context of what he sees. Frankly, I do believe that Bran was inspired by another character, a guy named Paul Atreides. GRRM created an interesting world, but he borrowed heavily from several other literary works.

You didn’t know after that scene who Jon was? Regardless, that wasn’t the point. All clips used were from the first 5 seasons. So by definition, R+L=J can’t possibly be a spoiler. You’re privy to absolutely no new information.

He knew it would expose Sam to important info & knowledge. i also love to point this one out: the dire wolves' names reflect each Stark owner. "Lady" - Sansa's dream to become a Lady died/was killed at King's Landing, like her dire wolf, Lady. Ghost - Jon came back from the dead. "Summer" - Meera told Bran "you died in that cave", his dire wolf Summer died in the cave & also depicts summer is over, winter is here. Nymeria - named after a warrior queen, like Arya. Grey Wind - not really sure, something about Robb's speed & agility. Shaggy Dog - Rickon is wild & shaggy.

It’s the exact same thing as doing a rewatch prior to season 7. People just want reactors to be in the dark for some reason and not have the same viewing experience they did. Every person in the world knew who Jon Snow’s parents were heading into season 7. None of us knew he was legitimate until Gilly spilled the beans to Sam about the annulment. Absolutely nothing was spoiled and I’d love someone to explain otherwise

If she hadn't tried to pin Joffrey's death on Tyrion, there would have been no "trial by combat" and Oberyn Martell wouldn't have died which gave the Sand Snakes the reason to take revenge by killing Myrcella. If Cersei hadn't set up the High Sparrow and the Faith Militant to bring down Margaery and end her influence on Tommen then Cersei wouldn't have ended up forced to do the walk of shame and being on trial herself for her sins. Her then taking revenge by blowing up the Sept, killing Margaery is what caused Tommen to commit suicide. So, she only has herself to blame for both of her younger children's deaths. I'd blame her for raising Joffrey to be what he was, causing his death as well, but I think he was just inherently crazy and sadistic.

His manipulations go all the way back to before the show began, back when he manipulated Lyssa Arryn. He probably even knew Robert's Rebellion was based on a lie. You're right: great character.

The Stark ladies are far from the naive kids they were at the start of the show. I loved how you reacted to the trial, it was just as awesome as the trial itself. The looks on your faces were priceless when Viserion started firing up the wall, and the Reagan reference had me LMAO. Thanks for another great season, and I am pretty sure you won't find as many faults as some see in the final season. Euron and Clyburn are not exactly lovable types, but you can enjoy them as the they are, it's ok to like bad guys. Winter has arrived... After watching your post show comments on the MCU and the channel in general, I gotta say you guys are killing it. I think I may have been the first to petition for DD, thank you so much for listening to those of us that suggested it. I'd suggest doing two at a time, but if you don't have time to do it, whatever works best for you guys. As far as Stranger Things, it has scary moments, but if Brooke can handle GOT, ST is a piece of cake. It is another one of those well written, superbly acted shows that come along only once in a while.

Its different than GoT because it is a complete story so you can go read about the entire history of Westeros. GoT is the farthest point in the story and isn't finished. But I would stay away from history and lore for HOTD because you will definitley see spoilers in fact there was a major spoiler in GoT in the early seasons that you wouldn't of caught haha Also I dont think you totally mentioned it but it was widely talked about at the release of the episode but the Night King is powerful similar to bran with his warging and green sight type of abilities so the fact he brought those giant chains and waited for the dragons to show up means he knew they were coming and it was all calculated.

They made sense when the story was new and expanding but I feel like after season 5 or 6, as the story begins to contract and plotlines get consolidated, there isn't much new to learn from them that informs or clarifies these seasons.

So much, in fact, that they couldn't be in the same room together and were never in a scene with each other. That's why they make a point of Bronn telling Podrick they would leave the meeting for the important people. They just had to get him out of there before Cersei arrived, lol.

I think you should watch episodes 5 and 6 together since the story kind of flows over into the finale. I’m sure it’ll be fine however you watch it, but I agree episode 3 should be a stand alone episode. I wouldn’t be upset if you took the time to add a lore video in between HOTD season 2. I will be happy to suggest another David Lightbringer video “meet the characters of HOTD” before you even start House of the Dragon. Im so so happy you guys have made it this far in the journey, and I promise there’s still tons to learn!
