Eternals (2021) Reaction

How many references can one movie make? That is the question.

But no other than that this was a pretty enticing film, the family theme was great along with adding new members of the galactical Avengers (maybe?)

UP NEXT... GOTS7E5&6, The Green Mile, & MORE <3

Eternals (2021) Reaction

Comments

There a certain villain in dd that in Hawkeye. That why everybody wanted you watch this first so when you finally watch Hawkeye, you will know who it is

asia roberson

might need to watch the whole DD first season b4 Hawkeye so you understand a certain character tied to both series as that character features more in the later episodes of DD. Am so excited cuz DD show is the best, all 3 seasons!

Jo

we are watching some DD first then are but not the whole season.

Mr. October

Next is Hawkeye

That's because this movie mostly exists as exposition for call backing for future films, for this ever present and overlying expansion within the universes. What they should have done was wait until they're running out of material to elaborate on these things in the MU. They should have actually catered them to more in depth fans, instead of trying to make a big release as if everyone wants #allthecontext, nowadays. Mainstream common denominators are still going to favor more isolated character centered screen telling. But the industry is trying to also profit off chronically online rabbit hole dwellers, for an endless looping of content engagement to fuel/sustain franchising. They're basically exploiting social media fandom culture and commodifying "easter egg" and nostalgia, so it feels more hollow, with less integrity, and thus less intriguing or compelling. I actually have never been able to get through it either. I don't want to know about this yet. As I said, they should have kept hinting about it less subtly in more isolated character features until more mainstream fandom was ready for more information, then delivered it in this feature form. As it stands no one is ever going to care that much about skrulls or celestial beings and the watchers, but maybe they do only care about people making endless "spot the obscure easter eggs reference" videos.

Speaking for myself, as an adult I can only make myself interested in superheroes i knew about as kid when I read comics and watched cartoons. Superman, Batman, SpiderMan, Captain America, Iron Man.., these are characters that I am familiar with and have some interest in. Once they get into MoonKnight, Ms Marvel, The Elementals... I don't know who these people are, and I just don't have the inclination to learn about them.

Chris Riordan

This is one of the best movies. Makari is the best visual representation of a speedster we’ve ever had on the big screen Idk why anyone says it’s bad

Diego sanchez

You got Hawkeye next and even though you don't HAVE to watch Daredevil first, it will make MUCH more sense if you do. You have 4 bangers coming up: Hawkeye, MoonKnight, Spider man: No Way Home and Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The best stretch of Phase 4

DarrellWaller

agreed

DarrellWaller

i have started this movie several times and honestly can't get past that scene on the beach. Thought maybe I could get through it as a review but still can't. Sorry I just don't care about these characters and it seems boring as hell.

Louie Anderson

Visually one of the best looking mcu movies. Very overhated also.. And the sword at the end is not a reference or anything πŸ˜… They are not stealing anyones ideas. Kit harrington plays a character from the marvel comics. Hes called black knight. First appearance in 1967. Definetly not stealing πŸ˜…

Monkey D. Tomy

Also, all of this was in the comics before Game of Thrones and everything else ;)

Edward Martin

bro wheres the new GOT? youll never finish before HOD at this pace.

Louie Anderson

Well at the end of GoT these actors with immense popularity got to move into the MCU and probably made some serious money. I think you guys have the right to react as you want, it;s your channel but you should understand that we as your Patreons have the right to get irritated by constantly saying stuff like "come up with your own ideas and don't steal from other movies" - part of what MCU fans love is how the MCU puts fancentric easter eggs in their movies ... thanks for watching I hope you enjoy the next movie more than you did Eternals, it was super evident from the comments during the movie it wasn't up to standards.

Michael

I'm not gonna say that Mr. October and I thought the same thing about Arishem's finger.... but uh...

Edward Martin

There must be some sort of an agreement with Thrones and MCU. That when you are done with GOT, you go Marvel πŸ˜…

Flexorcist

They’re actually sticking with the r-rated for Blade don’t know about anything else though

Dayvon148

I never even watched this or shang chi, at the time I just didnt care anymore because without cap and tony what even is the MCU haha Also Mesopotamia in South America? my goodness lol

Christian

Y'alls references and parallels are justified. So a little backstory to explain this movie from an MCU point of view. The X-men movies were made by Fox and they held the rights to the X-men at the time. So knowing how the movies up to Endgame have climaxed and unfolded, the MCU needed an injection of top tier heroes that can band together. The Eternals are seen as an offbrand X-men team. Obviously the story and all that are very different. But its needed within the MCU. However.. since.. Fox and the rights have been acquired by Disney. The Eternals didn't preform that well at the boxoffice and even the average fandom is like ~mwah~ about them. During your X-men journey they announced that a bunch of upcoming projects (movies and shows) have been canceled, including Eternals 2. Now that doesn't mean they've become obsolete, infact i'm pretty sure they will be absorbed into other shows/movies to establish a story/lore early on. They also announced new stuff like an upcoming X-men movie! So yeah the current MCU road ahead of you is a bit bumpy, it bounces back. You'll see where and when by yourself. Enjoy! **TL:DR: The movie does give off X-men vibes, because that was the intent. Love y'all!**

Lifehouse

Ok, the big takeaway for me, even though I didn't really like this movie, is the fact was put out there that when planets reach a critical population density, a Celestial is born and destroys the planet. Ok, so with that being said, WAS THANOS RIGHT? He was in the know about Celestials and maybe he WAS the good guy trying to prevent more of them from being born??? hmmmm././

DarrellWaller

Pretty funny you said before the film, "Hopefully Robb ain't in heat" LMAO considering the ending...

Kale

I got confused my first time seeing this because Starlord's dad was called a Celestial but was nothing like these dudes.

Jim Schmitz

I'm saddened to hear you getting so defensive lately, I understand how annoying negative comments and criticism can be, especially when you're trying so hard to please. I love you guys so much but there are things that you say and do that annoy me. But that's my problem and I deal with it. Keep up the great work (and maybe even get better). πŸ’›

Jim Schmitz

haha she corrected me quickly

Mr. October

I don’t disagree with you. Of all the GOT comparisons you missed that the person who wrote the theme for Eternals also wrote the theme for GOT

Joel

Loved the reaction guys keep it going! Train to Busan is Korean not m Manderin

Adam

oh yeah, we want to see those too! probably gonna check them out once we got caught up!

Mr. October

ah i see, thats what i meant to say,

Mr. October

This movie obviously made 1000 fan service moments, that's all I'm saying. it was a little over the top but still a fun movie,

Mr. October

I can’t WAIT to see PG-13 DISNEY β€œvampires” in the MCU πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜…

imperial

youre certainly free to have your opinion, but if youre gonna complain about ripping off other media please do your research and find out which story was written first. Jack Kirby didnt rip off George RR Martin. Eternals is a comic series that came out decades before "A Song of Ice and Fire"

Joel

I love this movie more and more every time I watch it.

Quinten Shibusawa

Yeah, they messed up the schedules for their upcoming films/shows BUT I'm still looking forward to Ali's Blade!

Adrian Rhodes

Only 7 more years until the new Blade film comes out! Mahershala Ali is going to be 68 years old by the time they start filming, but I'm sure they can get a sequel or two done before he has to use a walker to get around.

Chase Schleich

And they didn't steal any ideas lol Kitt Harrington is playing a character called Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight. And what you're complaining about are called Easter Eggs. They're a mainstay in these things but you just never got them before because you never watched a lot of movies.

Adrian Rhodes

The "Mystery Man" is Blade (you should REALLY watch those films, too!) He's a vampire slayer.

Adrian Rhodes

This is the movie that put BTS in the Marvel Universe and I love it for that alone. haha. No pressure, but if you're ever interested in tapping into their fandom and getting to know an incredible group of artists and entertainers, hit me up. Happy to make recommendations. haha

SNBangtan

I personally enjoyed the movie. It looked amazing visually

Mayday
