2023-12-06 21:40:26 +0000 UTCI’d say Ser Barristan in his prime was easily top 2 if not number 1 sword fighter, but right now at this stage Jaime is easily the best in the show, but Barristan still second to him which is crazy at his age. They’re both top 5-10 in the entire history of this world.

2023-12-06 05:33:07 +0000 UTCWith regard to the different armies - yes, each "kingdom" in the 7 Kingdoms is ruled by a head Lord or Warden And each head Lord has his own army. All the other lesser lords under him have armies - who are pledged to the head Lord. All the lesser Lords have their own holdfast/community/area. And the head Lord is pledged to The King in King's Landing. It's like a pyramid. King Robert and Joffery both talked about how they didn't like this. They both wanted all the armies to be united under just the actual King, in King's Landing. When Rob said to "call the banners", he was talking about all those lesser lords in the North who are pledged to House Stark, pledged to rally when House Stark called them.

His opportunity to maintain power as “Protector of the Realm” slipped away as soon as Joffrey was declared King. Renly was right. The best Ned can hope for now is mercy and/or exile.
