Hey Flufferschnoots - he's finally here! It's Breakfast Egee and he's ready to make some breakie for you after a late evening together. This piece follows a bit of Egee lore from this saucy post.
This piece has been a giant effort and hopefully a turning point in my style. I'm really proud of it on multiple levels!
The soundscape was created entirely by me! Those are my breakfast & kitchen sounds (from this medley). The birds at the very beginning were from a bird feeder outside my window, and the roomtone was a track I recorded last year.
Recording the breakfast sounds took about an hour. I captured them early on a Sunday morning. I set the Tascam on the espresso machine (which put it above the range) and began cooking. I cooked each dish separately and literally stood there in the quiet with the Tascam recording while it cooked. It was strangely cathartic.
The voice part was actually two different sessions. I went back and recorded a few more "filler" lines and added the outro where we are eating.
I hope the wait is worth it because I really enjoyed producing this. It makes for a very complex editing process but it's very mentally stimulating and pushes my abilities to their limits.
I can't wait to bring you the next one. π
