Game of Thrones Season 1 Episode 3- Lord Snow!

Comments

Season 1 is probably the most difficult to comprehend with all the terminology and lore they sling around meanwhile you have no clue what all of it means. It will get much easier to understand as the seasons go on.

Wildlings and white walkers are not the same. Wildlings are regular humans living beyond the wall. White walkers are the Ice monsters you saw in the first episode. Which everyone thinks are extinct or fictional.

I can’t see the video. Same problem I had with the Endgame reaction

We joined your Patreon to hear you talk - to actually hear your full thoughts! Don't worry about talking too much. And, unlike a few other people, I don't think you need to watch (or at least react to) the history and lore videos. While they are interesting if you REALLY need a question answered, they're quite long with slow narration and don't make for every interesting viewing for the majority of subscribers. You can watch on your own if you feel like you're really not understanding the history between the Houses. They're a great resource but not a "must do" for a reaction.

Crissi

The older guy at the wall with the name Mormont is the father of Ser Jorah Mormont who is the middle age guy thats with Daenerys as her advisor and friend. Thats why you remembered that name, their relationship will be explained later, they hinted it slightly in a conversation in this episode. Not a spoiler really just a bit of lore. And King roberts brother you see here is Renly baratheon.

Christian

You guys are killing it for your first few reactions. Great job!! I would also recommend the history and lore videos after each season. They drag on a bit for first time watchers but they are super insightful. Also, dialogue is so, so important in this show, so don't be afraid to pause the episode after scenes are done to theorize. You're missed a few key details in this episode that will come back later on. But I know it's overwhelming a bit so I understand :)

TallTyrionLannister

you guys should definitly react to the history and lore videos videos in between the seasons, tons of fun facts

A few questions I heard y’all ask… the winters and summers in this show last years…. The Mad King is the targeryans father( that why they fled and found khal drago after the king was murder by Jamie)… and Tyrion went to the wall just to piss off it, yes he’s that petty. Love y’all’s reaction, intro was funny. Like everyone said, just be u. We here for y’all, we can skip if we want, yall just be y’all. See y’all in the nxt video

Good luck with that...

You can add ‘Summer’ to the list of direwolf names for Bran’s wolf that saved his life last episode, it’s never really said in the show until way later for some reason.

As far as you guys talking before and after...I personally want you guys to just do you. If you want to talk for 30 minutes before the show, do it. If you don't have much to say jump right in. I joined your patreon because of yalls attitude and outlook on things. So I want you guys to just be yourselves.

You mentioned seeing the animals on the banners. Each house has a sigil and a lot of them are animals but some aren't. Eventually you will learn the ones for the major houses, but try to pick them out when you can because hey, it's not enough to throw a million characters at ya. They're gonna throw a bunch of animals in the mix too ;-) Some of the animal encounters can be symbolic, so they are fun to look back on at the end of a season.

Sir_Dalagad

lol that makes sense

Thanks for breaking down how you feel about the different characters so far. Maybe it's petty to hate on Viserys Targaryen (platinum blonde brother of Daenerys) for his looks. That's okay I feel ya. You're gonna find there are several dudes in this show with very punchable faces because the casting was superb on many levels including striking the right tone or making a big first impression. There are a lot of characters so looking the part is very important. This show excels at having realistic characters so very few really, really good ones or completely evil ones. Whether you are right or wrong about someone; the stronger your initial impression of a character the more you'll enjoy where their story goes so embrace those gut instincts and have fun!

The histories and lore videos after each season might be beneficial! A lot of reactors react to each season’s h&l video once they finish a season. They’re pretty helpful in explaining a lot of the world, the name’s you hear, etc. and they don’t contain spoilers for future seasons

Katie Thomas

Littlefinger is his nickname. Petyr (Peter) Baelish is his real name. I’m pretty sure he’s only called Littlefinger behind his back.

Andrew Karr

I love watching you guys, and this is my favorite show for reactors! Don't stress if you don't get things (and there are definitely things you are missing!!), they will be revealed and clarified in time. Just one clarification note since you're off base on this: Tyrion went to the wall to see one of the great wonders of the world-- so just to sightsee. He is not invested in Jon in anyway except that he has compassion for the downtrodden (as noted in the title of the next episode). He wanted Jon to understand who his new companions are rather than look down on them-- which is why he basically said, look dude, you're better than everyone because you were privileged enough to be trained and grow up in a castle, so get over your mopey ass self and make friends/help out these farm boys.

Punjathon

okay cool. i hope we feel different about joffrey lol

Mr. October

yeah you are right 😊

Mr. October

Your dedication to the details is commendable (and at times, it could be a pain-in-the-brain). What you feel about the characters and situations will evolve as you learn more (and you will learn more, much more). Fun seeing Tony running around the room.

Jim Schmitz

I'll go ahead and say: Don't stress it and just be you! Talk about whatever you want to talk about, before, during and after the episode. If I didn't want anybody to talk, I could watch it alone :P I enjoy your commentary a lot.

Sebastian Schon

As promised...
