Hey, y’all…I’m just about caught up and about to watch Infinity War, but I’m leaving this comment here because you’re (I believe 7 weeks) away from Spider-Man: No Way Home (Captain Marvel, Ant-Man & The Wasp, Avengers: Engame, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Black Widow, Shang Chi, The Eternals)…Which means you also have 5 MORE movies to watch before the next entry, Spider-Man: No Way Home (Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2)…Just trust me when I say…If you do not catch yourself up on those before watching No Way Home, you may as well not even watch it at all. Please believe me 🙏🏻

2023-10-06 05:09:55 +0000 UTCPeter's strength doesnt come from his suit, he does have superhuman strength & abilities he got from the spider bite etc. Toby McGuire & Andrew Garfield's movies show him getting the powers etc, so yea, when you re-watch them theyl xplain better, wheras Tom Hollands Spiderman doesnt show his actual origin. Remember when he's recruited by Tony in Civil War he's already been Spiderman for about 6 months, so he's still pretty new at this. Another thing, i certainly didnt get the 'wierd touchy/feely' vibe between Peter & aunt May that you mentioned, all i see is a protective aunt and her nephew with a good relationship because its only the 2 of them family-wise. Good reaction otherwise, cant wait for Ragnarok & Black Panther😊

Also you asked where were the avengers at during the ferry scene, you gotta remember after what happened in Civil War that version of the avengers doesn’t really exist at this point in time.

It was decided that because the "bite" origin was explored enough in the two previous versions, they would just make some references and move on. I've been impressed with Tom Holland's take. He captures the awkwardness of a guy that age well.

2023-10-05 05:29:47 +0000 UTCSony owns the rights to Spider-Man and all Spider-Man related characters. Marvel studios and Sony struck a deal in order to let Spiderman in the MCU. Marvel studios/Disney would produce the movies, but Sony would hold the distribution rights to the movie. They have since extended the deal because it's a gold mine for both parties. It's similar to how 20th Century Fox owned all the X-Men characters. Which is a big reason Disney bought them. Another great example is the Hulk. If you go back to the Incredible Hulk you'll notice the Universal studios logo. That's because the Hulk's distribution rights are owned by Universal. Marvel technically can make a Hulk movie whenever they want, but the issue is that Universal would be the distributor and would dictate when it comes out and all the marketing which unless you have a deal like Sony is a big issue. But unlike Hulk and Universal, Sony holds both production rights and distribution rights. Sony gets to sign off on all the creative decisions Marvel studio makes. Long story short for why Marvel studios doesn't own all the rights to their characters is back in the day Marvel was struggling financially so they sold off the film rights. More to it but that's the basics.
