[Art] Vaporwave/Outrun Egee Comm WIP

Every once in a while I discover an artist that I can tell is really special. Merlin is one such artist that I discovered only a couple of months ago when she showed up in my Twitter feed.

Before her, I only really got icons and occasionally full-body commissions of Egee because that is what most artists advertise. But Merlin has done a bunch of full scenes so I decided to commission one.

Random Note: I still haven't posted about the previous commish I got from her so this post is a little bit out of order because I just received this WIP and I about died.

Writing & working together on scene commissions is so darn fun because there's so much going on and the commish can go in so many directions.

Originally, I just wanted a simple & nostalgic scene inspired by Outrun (the game, not the aesthetic) with some homages to the early 2000's. I used this as a ref:

As you can see, the commish has taken quite a different direction and it's awesome! I absolutely love it when the artists has their own ideas they want to add to the commish, it makes the process feel very special.

So yeah, Merlin is probably my favorite artist at the moment and I hope to get lots more commissions like this one with her!
