Should I stay "in character"?
Added 2020-10-21 18:14:38 +0000 UTCI've wanted to get back into non-tech content (cars, guitars, maybe vlogs, etc) for a long time. 2019 & 2020 have been rough and I haven't done much outside of Linux tech stuff.
I've had my other personal-ish channel for a pretty long time but I've never liked using myself or "Brian" as branding.
Most people on the internet know me as Egee so I'm trying to decide whether I should produce those non-Linux videos as Egee instead of Brian.
Since I have a partial in the works, I could probably pull it off pretty well. But would people be interested in watching it?
It seems like the majority of furry YouTubers are very flamboyant and energetic which is cool but that's just not me or Egee. Would people be interested in a more low-key furry character?
So I guess the question is - should I be Egee for the non-Linux stuff or not?

Thank you for the encouragement! There's just something more fun about playing a character. I did the vlog thing with an old 924 I had and the videos were *so* cringy. Doing it again as Egee is less bad somehow 😂

Continue exploring Egee on your own terms, at your own pace, in your own way. It’s the authenticity of your fursona and down-to-earth style that draws people to your channel. I know that doubting yourself is common in any artistic endeavor, but we like what you do, and so do people who ordinarily might not be interested in anything furry related. No one else is doing what you’re doing, so it might feel strange, but don’t doubt your vision too much! Egee is memorable and informative and chill, a rare combination.
