Exclusive Distro Delves Episode Update
Added 2020-02-16 01:53:36 +0000 UTCSo I've talked about this idea of "Patron-Exclusive" Distro Delves episodes but I haven't really elaborated on it.
I've been working on an episode featuring OpenMandriva and, well let me just say, it ain't good.
In my rationale for making these exclusive episodes, I made a lot of assumptions about how my audience will react to a negative Distro Delves episode, but I've never actually tested it...
And in fact, when I was planning Season 2, I asked on YouTube if folks wanted to see bugs and issues in episodes and people overwhelming voted yes.
This episode featuring OpenMandriva shows off a lot of issues. It's so bad that I actually stopped capturing footage half-way because I didn't think it was salvageable. But when I recorded the initial voice-over, I realized that I'm making assumptions about segments I didn't even film.
So basically, I've decided to make this episode a regular Distro Delves episode and put it on YouTube. It's going to show tons of issues so this will be a test to see how people respond no a rather negative Linux distro review.
With all of this said, I do still want to make exclusive content for you guys and I think that putting the "bad" reviews here on Patreon is still a good idea. But I don't think OpenMandriva is quite that bad.
