Just a Few Things on this Christmas Eve

Get Retro with Voicemail!

As you've been hearing on Hwat Hweekly some people have been leaving us some voicemails and they've been lovely. I wanted everyone to know that you can ALSO leave us a voicemail over on the Midnight Burger public website. Some of your voicemails have been great but they have been more geared toward the Midnight Burger-of-it-all like this update from Freyja Titmittens on their fleet of classic VWs named after the cast.

We wanted to find a home for those voicemails as well so, over on the Midnight Burger website, look to the bottom right hand corner of the website, click on the microphone and leave us a voicemail!

"But what will you do with those voicemails, Joe?"

As we've often remarked, Finlay and Myself are actually the least interesting members of the Midnight Burger community. We're constantly hearing from y'all about all of the fascinating things you're working on. Within the Midnight Burger community are literal rocket scientists, literal NASA employees, literal philosophers, literal artists, literal long haul truckers and literal all-sorts-of-other-things. We'd like all of y'all to know more about each other, so let's make a little project together.

Once we have enough interesting voicemail updates from y'all about what's going on in your lives, what you're working on, and what you've been thinking about, I'm going to bundle them all up into one big update and put it on the feed. I'm thinking we'll call it "Dispatches from the Multiverse."

The world is getting pretty weird out there. Let's stick together by keeping each other updated. Are you defending your dissertation? Let us know what it's about! Are you reading a great book? Tell us about it! Have you finally figured out why your cat is obsessed with that one corner of the living room? We'd like to know about it!

I think this could be a fun experiment. Let us know what your whole deal is about and let us know what corner of the world you are occupying. Let's do our best to keep in touch in this ever-fracturing world. With voicemail!

Midnight Burger Illustrated

Once upon a time we were telling you about a project we were embarking on with a new startup called StoryCo. Remember that?

StoryCo needed to do a very sudden pivot from public facing website to private producer (hashtag Startup Life) but we're happy to say that Midnight Burger Illustrated is still moving forward! You can check out the WIP from our amazing artist Cara Tune above!

This has been such a fun project to work on with Cara, and we're hoping to unveil it all in the first half of next year! Soon you'll be able to experience our very first episode with a combination of still art and animatics! We can't wait to show you more!

Midnight Burger Illustrated is all part of our efforts to expand the universe of Midnight Burger and give y'all new ways to experience the show through different mediums while continuing to expand the story through our main show and mini-series'.

There's One Last Thing

"Young Leif: Issue #1" arrives next year.

With art by the amazing Awnrii and written by our very own Tom Moorman, we'll be stepping out into the world of comics next year with the first issue of Young Leif!

We're so thrilled (and terrified!) to be taking our first step into the world of graphic novels. Awnrii has been part of the Midnight Burger community for a very long time making all sorts of wonderful Leif-centric fan art. We cannot wait to see those ideas come to life even more in this new iteration of the Midnight Burger universe. Tom has been a creative partner of mine since the dawn of time and he's written a fantastic script for us. No one knows comics, storytelling, and Leif like Tom and we're very excited he's decided to be a part of this new project.

The work has just begun, and we'll have much more information in the months to come, but we just wanted to let y'all know about Young Leif before the end of the year. We can't wait to tell you more.

As always, we couldn't do any of this without all of you and your amazing support of Midnight Burger. Working on this and meeting all of you the past few years has been a dream come true and we're so excited for what the future holds.
