For this update, let me break down what has happened with the copyright. And some other stuff.

So, my Jurassic World video has gone through a lot of growing pains.

The initial version would likely have slipped all systems if not for the theme getting caught because of a joke I wanted to make. From there, I contested it and apparently got tagged by someone specifically from universal.

So the second time around I changed the theme half way through to cut it up into chunks, being the most transformative one could be while keeping the theme understandable and that was still flagged.

So then I removed the theme and it didn't matter from that point, I was being manually claimed by a guy from Universal who probably has an eye on my channel.

So I contested it and YouTube allowed them to double down, I can't take it further than that because I use cam ripped footage to prove a lot of my points, which is obviously frowned upon and so I decided to make a clean version of the video without a single snippet of cam in order to finally get past any sense of copyright claim.

That version of the video will be released today and when that guy from Universal claims the video I will contest it again and again, likely receiving a strike for the channel because my god that was 8 days of straight work that I am flushing down the toilet if I don't fight for it.

Everything in the new video is sourced from promotional YouTube channels and I have used it to transform the content into criticism of the works to begin with. This is the first time I have had to brush with this sort of thing, I was hoping I wouldn't be popular enough for it but I have already made enemies.

This is the official confirmation btw that I will no longer use footage from a cam rip to substantiate points. I will simply become more descriptive in my assessments for newer films. This means I can then fight copyright claims consistently.

These edits have taken a decent chunk of precedence of the past few days but I have been working on the Q&A video as well. I need a few extra days to finish that and then we will be golden.

Either way, you can always find a version of the video unlisted on YouTube right here, in case this doesn't work - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkZWRasWZ88

I have started to fully advertise the Discord that I am running for my community and you guys will get a bigger explanation of it in the Q&A video on top of the TFA critique that's on it's way - https://discord.gg/aNX8J2v - Here's an invite.

You can contact me through it, or just mingle with other fans, there are several chat rooms set up and plenty to interact with but we will likely make quality of life changes as time goes on, you will have limited access for 24 hours however, as a protection for the server.

As for the TFA critique, yes it is coming before the Solo one now and the main reason being is that I would like to have HD clips to present Solo with, especially after the carnage I have had with Jurassic World.

So, I will happily provide an update in the next post about the process that the script is in at that point. It is weird, i'm kind of exited to get back to it now, after all this crap I have had to deal with. Disney have been much kinder to me than Universal.

Feel free to ask any questions and hopefully the Q&A video will be something fun for you guys to chew on when it gets released.

Thank you for the continued support and the new patrons! We are very close to the 1K goal and my goodness, that is bloody insane to think about. I am going to try and step on the gas with TFA, I look forward to you guys being able to watch that series :) /

I was 11 when I saw Star wars. It wasn't even a new hope then. You expressed though your 2 video series what I felt when I walked out of the last Jedi. Kepp it real man, you have my support!

LOVE, LOVE , LOVE your work man!

Cool, I'll have to think of something good to ask for the next round then!

I put out a video asking for people to leave comments that could become Q&A comments, from there I answered the top comments. I will do it again for the 50$ goal, sorry to be behind on the 100$ by so much lol.

So looking forward to the Q&A! Where did you source the questions from?

Ever consider a backup channel on a site like Dailymotion? I know DM doesn't get nearly as much traffic as YT, but at least it's a backup plan in case Disney and other companies become as aggressive as Universal.

I’d personally love a recut of the TLJ Unbridled Rage video with the same audio, just with HD footage instead of the watermelon molding. Please please please. <3

Well, the unlisted version is still equipped with cam footage and that's going to be linked on here, twitter and the new video that's coming out. I think it's gone beyond transforming it with Universal, someone is manually claiming it for the trailer footage alone. They are taking the whole Fair use thing and throwing it out of the window entirely. From now on I will be careful to basically use no music outside of the stuff that i know is valid.the videos are monitised by the claimants sometimes or they are outright blocked like my Jurassic one was :( I dont mind if I dont make money form the video but for them to make money from it is really insulting and for it to be banned completely is going too far.

Mauler, is it possible to do a version of your videos with the cam rip footage that can be shared on Patreon or discord? I love how you use that stuff to make your points. Another option might be to do the still images into a quazi-animation, like you do with Luke and the blue milk from TLJ. I hate to see your creativity stifled like that because of bogus copyright claims. Another way around this is transformative effects in your video. Angry Joe will often flip the video game footage of Nintendo games horizontally and add an overlay to the image because Nintendo is notorious for copyright claims on anything using their games. Doing that may look weird, but it seems to be a way around getting striked/claimed. You always gotta be careful in your use of music on YouTube. I know that ANY video with the Star Wars theme instantly gets hit. YouTube has some crazy ways of finding copywritten music. I feel for both you and Dishonored Wolf. You guys work so hard on such good videos, only to have them hit by YouTube's awful copyright system. Is there any way around that? Do you guys really need the monetization from the ads in those videos?

Universal is known to be like that if I remember correctly. Chris Stuckmann said as much on Twitter and a million creators were like "oh, you too?" - so it appears everyone is dealing with the same problem. I haven't seen JW yet, so I didn't watch the rant video (I haven't seen Solo, but I'll watch everything criticizing the movie regardless as I don't plan to see it in theaters ^^). I'm looking forward to it though. :)
