I just started reading the wicked books and they are way darker Oz is like a tyrant figure and Elphaba is such a tragic character the way Dorothy seemed her for help to go home and yet Elphaba knew Dorothy was a pawn and was torn between killing her for her sisters death or letting her go. Dorothy still kills her but it was an accident because Elphaba caught on fire and she’s allergic to water which melts her but in her last moments she was rather thankful it wasn’t the wizard or any of her enemies that killed her. It’s still theorized she’s not really dead in the books and she does have a son with fiyero the books are more political and complex

Remember the reason in part one she became the enemy is because she knew too much and stole the ancient book of spells and they’re afraid of her because of that. The spells she can pronounce them and yet it’s no spell for everything she had no choice to turn Boq since he was dying and it was the only way for him to live. And fiyero was also dying she had no choice
