WTF am I doing?

I'm giving you guys an update on WTF I'm doing! :)

So as many of you will know from my general mix of complaining about being stressed and not uploading very often, I have been both working 3 days a week and studying full time since September. It all came to a head the other week and I realised I would need to chose to axe one of the 3 main things in my life: Octav1us, work, and university.  All three have been suffering hugely.

So I chose to axe work, and I left my job.

Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE being able to pay the rent and buy myself nice things. But, after being in digital marketing for 6 years, my career was starting to take a direction that I really didn't want it to. That is, away from the cool sexy stuff with server logs and laughing at how badly put together some websites are, and moving more towards endless spreadsheets of PPC figures and rewriting title tags. So I'm bailing, because it was making me miserable.

I'm going to shut down my ltd SEO consultancy company and concentrate on not failing university, and try to grow Octav1us. I am very scared, obviously, but it's better than staying up all night to finish essays and providing what is quite frankly a crap level of service at my job. 

I'll still be making a little bit of monies every month with the one freelance gig I still have, so I will hopefully be able to at least cover the rent. I'm not going to go on benefits, because it's an absolute nightmare and will probably make me even more depressed. My dad has offered to send me food monies until I finish university, so don't worry about me losing my massive thighs.

This is a really big leap of faith for me, but I feel like it's probably the right one to make. I really feel like people like you guys have given me the confidence to actually step out there and try to do something with my life.

So this means I am going to be able to do a better job on my channel, and interact with you guys a lot better.
