Staghorn Shako

Greetings adventurers!

The Cervusan are an incredible people. Have you ever had the pleasure of meeting them? No? What a shame. They are warriors that wield both sword and magic, blending the two seamlessly and forging their own style of artistic fighting. Masters of defensive and offensive stances, truly an epic foe if you cross one, but an even better friend if you have the proper respect for their lands and communities. It’s a fascinating visit, though I do recommend taking a portal if possible. Anyways, their horns, though shed still possess some of the latent magics of these amazing spellswords. Now you can have a bit of that yourself. Just watch your head when you enter any low hanging doorways.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

If that strikes your fancy, consider becoming a Patron

Design notes from Matthew:

Sometimes, on rare occasions, there’s a call to make things singular of purpose between 5E and PF2E. I’ve mentioned before that I treat each system as an individual design exercise such that I end up with the best product possible regardless of the system I’m writing for. That’s just the method I’ve adopted and it has yet to steer me wrong. That also means that it’s rare that things function the same way between systems, but in this case they were quite close.

One of the biggest differences you’ll notice is that in the 5E version, I allowed for more spell options including area based options. This is due to spell attacks being a bit more limited in the 5E system. There’s just a lot more area spells or things that can jump from target to target. I didn’t want that to be a hindrance just because the system makes less use of individual targeting.

You’ll notice in the PF2E version, I made it so the previous strike doesn’t also count as your roll for any spell attack roll that comes after it. This was an intention choice as magic in general is a lot more balanced on a knife’s edge in PF2E and you’re already conveying a lot of power letting someone precast a spell into their item and then cast it with a single strike action. Knowing where the power and pain points are in any system is probably one of the best things you can develop when writing your own content.

It’s our last item of June. Can you believe how fast it’s all gone? I can hardly believe it. We’ll be releasing a creature later on today that I’m sure is going to be a favorite for some of you just based on its stylings alone. I know I’m quite excited to get it into your hands. Thanks for another wonderful month of support.

We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
