Progress Update

Last night I finished recording the vocal audio for the upcoming "Resistance Correction" episode, which is all about the system for deepening enemy resistances in Elden Ring.

So, today I'll be working on editing this down!

I'm excited to be exploring this topic, because it's one of those things that a lot of players have noticed but aren't aware of what's happening behind the scenes. Any time I can bring clarity to something that players only have a very fuzzy or partial understanding of, I'm eager to do so.

If you'd like a sneak peek into some of the research, here's a doc I was working on: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qBfY9fQK4eXZ6dL0LUaBSA7to1t5BSLHEkpBVc-FeS0/edit?usp=sharing

This was made for personal use so it's not the most-friendly thing to read, but it shows the resistance values for dozens of enemies that I tested in-game. As you see multiple numbers separated by commas, like "229, 271, 369, 659, 1116", the smallest number is that enemy's starting resistance value. Then each subsequent number is what it increases to each time you trigger that status effect on them.

These numbers can't be datamined... well, not directly. They can be predicted through datamining, and special thanks once again goes to KingBore for helping find the relevant values for that, but basically all of these numbers have some math involved (even the lowest/ starting numbers!) so I still wound up manually testing a bunch of enemies just to make sure the system worked as intended, without unexpected bugs/ issues.
