Jurassic Park 3 (2001) | FULL LENGTH REACTION

It's Wednesday my dudes!!

I will start off by saying, this movie was WAY better than anticipated.  I have no idea why so many people say this movie is bad, it was great!

I like how we had flying dinosaurs now, added a bit of suspense to everything, and Billy was a great character to have

I will just say, I watched Jurassic Park 3 before The Green Mile, and while skimming through JP3, I realized that Udesky is DEL FROM THE GREEN MILE!!!

Poor guy gets killed by a dinosaur and an electric chair πŸ˜…

I think it was a great final movie to this trilogy, and I look forward to seeing what Jurassic World is like!

Reminder that you need your own copy of the movie to watchalong, and that there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Jurassic Park 3 (2001) | FULL LENGTH REACTION

I don't notice car years, or clothing either 😁 I seem to not pay attention to details, just storyline details to predict what will happen lol I'll definitely be asking for suggestions more from patrons before making polls, though choosing from all the recommendations is tough too lol

The vehicle thing is the same as the difference if the cars that the characters drove or were shown on the street were 1990's style cars instead of 1930's style cars, or if the characters were wearing civilian clothes (suits and dresses) from the 1990's instead of the 1930's. When you decide to watch some war movies and want some good candidates to choose from, ask your patrons for suggestions. I think everyone will be happy to help you sort the good from the bad. We can also help you sort them into true story vs fiction; style, such as action, espionage/thriller, or drama/romance; and into various time periods; there is a lot more available than just WW2 and Vietnam. This also extends to recommendations for non-war true stories, which are often just as good or better than fiction.

The first one was absolutely amazing, and plus it being the first of it's kind stands out a lot. It's harder to make a story continue, but they were still fun!

I have learned that if it's a Michael Bay film, it's not for historical accuracy, it's just entertainment. I also didn't know "Pearl Harbour" was a Michael Bay film, so TIL 😁 "Tora! Tora! Tora!" seems like a it could be a good one, I'm learning that there are a LOT of war movies. I hope to eventually be able to have a full time editor so I can actually watch a lot more movies, and dabble into various war movies that I've never heard of. Though the military land/air/water vehicles are not something I would ever notice, so at least I won't be affected by how accurate those are. I find it fascinating how people notice these things though. Thank you for your extensive recommendations, I'm learning a lot!

This is exactly how I think about this movie, couldn't have said it better myself...πŸ€”πŸ™‚

I'll try to avoid spoilers: You mentioned "Pearl Harbor" in your list of 2001 movies. I have to say that I think it is terrible. Directed by Michael Bay, As an action film, it is at the bottom of my list of Michael Bay movies, and as a historical period piece it is less historically accurate than his other films like "Armageddon" and "Transformers" πŸ˜‰ . The CGI is at the same time high quality and terrible in it's inaccuracies. They spent $35 mil on CGI, but didn't bother with getting a $100 reference book, so the ships all look like 1999 supercarriers and modern missile cruisers rather than 1940's carriers and gun cruisers, and the Japanese and US ships all look the same; just copy, paste, and re-skin. Additionally, they spend a lot of time on side stories and minimal time on the actual events in the time leading up to the attack. The movie is over 3h long, and they don't get to Hawaii until after the 45min mark. The actual events are covered in less than 30 min of screen time, then they take a side trip to the Doolittle Raiders for the last 20%-25% of the movie. It was 4 movies squished into one: 1) a wartime romance drama, 2) an American in the Battle of Britain RAF, 3) some stuff on Hawaii leading up to Dec 1941, and 4) The Doolittle Raid. For a much more accurate telling of the events, watch the classic 1970 "Tora! Tora! Tora!". Japanese scenes filmed in Japanese, in Japan, with Japanese actors, director, and film crew, written by legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa. They built a 90% scale battleship Yamato to film the Japanese Navy scenes. There is an extended version that has extra Japanese scenes. The extended version is included on the basic Blu-Ray, but I don't know about it's availability on streaming. For the Doolittle Raid, watch: "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo" (1944), with the actual survivors as technical advisors. For a fictional story set against the backdrop of the Pearl Harbor attack, watch: "In Harm's Way" (1965) I highly recommend this one: great actors, a well-known director, and story elements that will surprise you in their relevance to today. "The Final Countdown" (1980) VERY fictional sci-fi, but still more historically accurate and a better basic story than "Pearl Harbor". "From Here to Eternity" (1953) Romance drama. Not to my taste, but good for it's type/genre and considered a classic. Has a couple scenes that are referenced or imitated a lot ("Shrek 2", "Airplane")

JAKH

Underrated is the best word for it. It was just as enjoyable as the second one. The first one still has that awe from seeing the dinosaurs and everything for the first time :D

Verowak

He's back!!!!!

Verowak

That would have been a very different story. Oh the crossovers we could have πŸ˜‚

Verowak

Agreed, I have no idea why the youtube comments were so harsh to this movie. It's certainly not as good as the first but it's still an enjoyable watch. If only Del was able to train the dinosaaaurs like Mr.Jingles πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Biggsy

Yeah I have no issues with the two JP sequels, they’re just not quite as good the first, and a bit goofier in areas, but still enjoyable films.

I am right there with you! I think this movie is very underrated. It is a neat Rescue-Mission-Thriller with a great ensemble. Can't wait to watch your reaction as soon as I find enough time for it...πŸ™‚
