The Green Mile (1999) | FULL LENGTH REACTION

Hey everyone!

Things are ramping up for me, so I'm going to be pretty damn busy for the next few months, so I apologize in advance if my uploads are a bit later than usual, like today.

It's time for THE GREEN MILE!!  All I have to say is, this was a beautiful and just heart wrenching movie, Michael Clarke Duncan is just perfect for the role of John Coffey (like the drink, only not spelt the same).

Another MVP in this movie were the two baddies.  Holy crap did I want them to go away, they were just so frustrating!!

I feel like Tom Hanks wasn't much of the star in this movie, because everyone else did so amazing.  He sort of just was part of the cast instead of being the main focus, imo.

Reminder that you need your own copy of the movie to watchalong, and that there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Despite it's 3h length, this was such an enjoyable movie πŸ’™πŸ’š

Comments

The actor did a fantastic job with Percy... you cannot help but despise him so much!!! Old reaction or not, I still get notified of the comments and actually really love reading them. πŸ₯°

Just decided to rent this and watch it with you. I saw it ages ago but I forgot how mind numbingly infuriating Percy was in this film. Insecure sociopath - the actor certainly did an amazing job of making me hate his guts. I had to look away during the botched execution scene. I can’t stomach torture or seeing people in agony. I realize this is an old reaction, just decided to share my thoughts.

It honestly really is such an amazing movie. I love the fact that it's one of the most faithful adaptations of a Stephen King novel. It seems like a huge undertaking, and I'll eventually read it to see what else there is to learn. It's neat to see that Bruce Willis recommended him, clearly he liked working with him and wanted him to do well!! I love just how selfless and nice John Coffey is, he just wants to take people's pain away (as long as they aren't baddies of course), and seeing him do that for Del was sweet. The ending is really well done, too. It gives us some information but also leaves us with a question: How long will Paul live? I'm glad to hear that you really like this movie, even though it's 3h long, it doesn't feel that long, that's for sure

Hi Vero. Ray here. Yes.. here is "The Green Mile". One of the best movies ever made (in my opinion ofcourse) And here is some info. 1: Michael Clark Duncan got Recommended to Frank Darrabont & Steven King, by non other then Bruce Willis (The Actor from the "Die Hard" Movies) to play John Coffee. 2: When Del got Excecuted, John Knew Percy was put up front.. so John tried to took most of his pain, thats why he was shaking so much. 3: When John saved Melinda, he did not spit out the flies then and there, cos he knew he would give those to percy.. so he kills Wild Bill & Messes his head up to in the same time (Two Birds with one Stone, in Fact) 4: I believed, in the end.. Mr Jingles died, that why "Old Paul" said. - If he can makes a Mouse, live so long. How much longer do i have? ❀❀❀ Ray.
