Band of Brothers Episode 7 *FULL LENGTH REACTION

Happy Monday!!

I have to say, it feels like this series is getting better and better every episode.  It's consistently amazing, and it feels like the states are higher each time.

This was one of my favorite episodes, and seeing it from Lipton's point of view made it all so much better.  Dike was so incompetent and it always frustrates me when someone is put in a leadership position, that they have no business being in!  People RELY on this guy to be smart and not get them killed.

I'm really glad that we got to get a bit more information about Speirs, he is so different from everyone else, and I like his reasoning at the end of why he doesn't deny the rumors.

Easy Company seems to have pulled the short straw every time.  They keep being put in the most difficult situations, which I guess because of their exemplary training and performance, they keep getting.

This series is a lot to take in, and it's just really immersive and captivating.

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the episode.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

We've entered the last year of the war... let's see how things go for Easy Company.

That's neat to know where they got the inspiration and how they came about it too, thank you!

Verowak

That was a very impressive run. He must have had a slightly easier time running Currahee

Verowak

Except when he dropped one 😁

Verowak

Yes, Pvt. Christianson was played by Michael Fassbender.

In this episode they said that Malarkey's best friends in the Company were Muck, Penkala, and Compton. Muck and Malarkey had another good friend, Fritz Niland, a sergeant from the 501st Regiment, who was sent home in July 1944 because his brothers in the 82nd Airborne Division and 29th Infantry Division were killed on D-Day, and his other brother was shot down in New Guinea in the Pacific theater. When Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg read the story in Stephen Ambrose's book and talked to Malarkey, the Niland brothers became the inspiration for "Saving Private Ryan", though in real life no one was sent to find him, the Army just waited for him to be pulled off the line with the rest of the 101st in July. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niland_brothers

Lt. Speirs, who made the run through German lines, went to college before the war on a track & field scholarship, running middle distance track (400m and 800m).

JAKH

Buck Compton, who got pulled off the line suffering from battle fatigue: we have previously seen him be really accurate with hand grenades. Before the war he went to UCLA on a baseball scholarship as a pitcher.

I'm glad to hear that!! It's been such an epic journey so far, and there is more to it. I'm really wanting to see more Spielberg movies/series now

Verowak

Even though I've watched the series already I'm finally caught up with you. The best part of r-watching is seeing and hearing it through your perspective. See you for the next episode.

Billy Dancel

That's what I realized at the end when I had a few seconds to think instead of trying to pay attention to what was happening on screen so I don't miss things πŸ˜‚ A lot of times when I edit I question how I didn't think of something that should have been obvious but I realize that I'm more focused on watching than thinking. It feels like some battles in war are the equivalent of bringing a knife to a gun fight, it's quite horrible

Verowak

Another awesome reaction....

John Thomas

The foxholes are there so that the soldiers are beneath the blastzone of shells so yes fragments and shrapnel. Noone is safe from a direct hit tho as you said.
