Mission: Impossible 3 (2006) | FULL LENGTH REACTION

Hi everyone!! Are you ready for the impossible?! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I'm so glad that this franchise isn't just action and stunts, there's actually a fun story to follow.  This is the first movie that I see Philip Seymour Hoffman in (aside from Hunger Games), and he is just splendid!  I 100% need to see him in more movies because he just embodies a character so well.

I love that we got to see Luther again, and I dread the day that his character gets killed off (hopefully he doesn't, but I'm prepared just in case).  Also, the addition of Simon Pegg is nice, though it did feel a bit like a forced comedic character a little bit.  I much prefer Sergeant Angel from Hot Fuzz ๐Ÿ˜

I'm glad that this one felt more like the first Mission: Impossible than the second, and I'm hoping this is the general style for the future ones.

Reminder that you need your own copy of the movie to watchalong, and that there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

The camera movement was not bad at all I found. It didn't stand out to me while watching it, unlike Hunger Games, that one was really bad for motion sickness. I do love it when there is a good villain, so MI3 stands out for that. I'm really curious to see Ghost Protocol, even more so since you say that it highlights the director's animation background. I love animated series and movies (though, surprising no one, I haven't seen many. I have seen Racacoonie though ๐Ÿคฃ) I'm glad they toned it down with the masks, it was great in MI2 because the whole movie felt over the top and almost like a caricature of Mission Impossible.

I'm glad your enjoyed this (and that you didn't get any motion sickness). You're right, Phillip Seymour Hoffman is an excellent villain. While thankfully, there are some pretty good villains later on, Hoffman remains a lot of fans' favorite. Some non-spoiler thoughts on Ghost Protocol: I'm curious what you'll think of it since, yup, it features another stylistic shift. Brad Bird directs Ghost Protocol, and it was his first live action movie. Before that, Bird had only directed animation (The Iron Giant, The Incredibles), and I really think G.P highlights his animation background. The shots just feel very composed and premeditated, like they were taken right off a storyboard, and I mean that in a good way. Ghost Protocol also showcases Cruise's new penchant for adding comedic touches to his portrayal of Ethan, something that wasn't much evident in the first couple movies. As far as your speculation about the masks, I think that was one of the lessons they learned from MI2. They realized if they abuse the gimmick too much, it makes it difficult for the audience to take the stories seriously. So after MI2, it feels like they "pick their spots" a bit more judiciously.

That's so awesome!! I definitely would not have recognized her since that character is mostly covered up lol It's like knowing that Cate Blanchett is in Hot Fuzz! ๐Ÿ˜ I remember hearing about Felicity, but never really watched any of it

There's a connection between J.J. Abrams and Keri Russell and Greg Grunberg. Greg and J.J. have been friends since they were pretty young and he has cast Greg in some roles over the years. Keri was the star of a TV show called "Felicity" where she was recognizable for her curly locks. Keri, too, is sometimes cast in roles directed by J.J. Abrams. You may have seen Keri in "Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker" as the mysterious masked acquaintance/romantic interest of Oscar Isaac's character. EDIT: I learned about their friendship with J.J. from Greg's and Keri's appearances on late night talk shows.
