Andor Episode 5 *FULL LENGTH REACTION

Hey friends it's ANDOR time!!!

Things are picking up in this one!!  My impatience just makes me want to know everything about every character, but I know it might take a few episodes or more to get everything that I want 😂

I can imagine how frustrated Andor is that he isn't aware of everything that is planned.  There's a lot of... oh let's hope everything works out and we'll figure it out as it happens which is not ideal.

Karn is just simmering at the moment, and perhaps next arc we'll see what he decides to do.  Will he throw a wrench in Andor's plans?  Will Andor actually find his sister?  I just realized we haven't really touched on the fact that he's from Kenari and why it was wiped from existence.

There are so many things that I want to know!!

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the episode.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Next episode... the heist is happening FOR SURE!

I know, right?! This show is the perfect example on how to slowly build suspense, have frequent (if not constant) tension and having damn cliffhangers at the end of the episodes lol. This makes me think of Game of Thrones how they would be so mean and have frequent cliffhangers all the damn time 🤣 So many episodes are just so great! I feel like the first of each arc will be the least favorites, since it's introducing the new arc, then it will build up, and up and up! I find it ridiculous that people are turned off by good writing, directing and cinematography lol. Every other live action Star Wars movie or TV show (aside from Rogue one) has flaws. Sometimes even major flaws, but Andor and Rogue One feel so well done it's insane. I would love it if they made more Star Wars content with this writing and directing team, it seems like they know what they're doing

All this suspense and we aren't event at the heist yet, it's like the prelude to the heist and it's this stressful. Andor does two things really well from a high level: build suspense, and leave you wanting more. Even being a slower pace, you get the tension, you get the stakes, the suspense, etc. Like at the end you knew the episode was over but after all that build up you wanted the pay off, but they tease you. Every time you think you have a favorite episode, they hit you with another one. That's how I felt watching them, which builds even more excitement. Like you said, you don't know the fate of a lot of these characters, and the heist characters you've only had two episodes with them and you're already invested and worried about not just their well being, but if you can trust them. The show is a master class in writing and directing, and cinematography. Like you said, it's a very different feel from other shows and even the movies, so some people were really turned off by that and didn't care for it, which is a shame. Some people refer to the show as a "reality" show in the way that it focuses on so many "real" people, just day to day conversations, what people go through, etc. We're so used to seeing heroes and jedi and generals etc that something like this is a refreshing take on the universe. Seeing a son and his mother having awkward conversations over a bowl of cereal is not what you think of in star wars but you never question it, and it's entertaining.

Karn and his mother's interactions are so different and real. I don't want to feel for the guy since he was going to arrest Andor, but he seems to be under a lot of pressure. I hope he turns good, but idk. Mon Mothma's family is really unexpected. It must really suck to have to live a double life and noticing that your child just doesn't really care about you. She has to make sacrifices and I'm curious to see how she'll feel from it. The show is doing such a good job with all the character development and stories/reasons for doing what they're doing. It really feels like a show focused on the characters. Oh I didn't know it was shot on location, that makes it just that much better!

The shot in space gets me too frequently! Movies always start with a shot in space, so my first instinct is that the episode is starting in space too lol I like the rebel group! It's so interesting having vastly different characters having to work together

Some random thoughts while watching this. The relationship with Karn and his mother, just wow. Its interesting you get to see dynamics like this in Star Wars. Showing Mon Mothma's family life is fascinating. They don't seem to know what she is up to so she is in a way leading a double life. That's got to have an impact on her psyche and make that marriage even harder. The sound design is top notch. Since when do you get startled and apprehensive to see a TIE fighter go by? They are going through great pains to really give you a flavor of each of the team members and build the story. Its hard not to like Nemic, he is so optimistic. Skeen has this edginess to him. The heist camp was all shout on location, a nice touch by the creators. The heist is coming soon, can't wait to see how it all plays out when it does.

just a small comment, but you thinking the opening was something different rather than the opening happened to me throughout this show, everytime i was like 'cool starting a shot in space gonna a see a space ship next', then nope just the opening. Really noticed the music in this episode for some reason, quite subtle and not star warsy but i liked it, also found it interesting how well you understood (not sure if that's the right word) the dynamic in the little rebel group.
