Andor Episode 4 *FULL LENGTH REACTION

Hey guys!

I will start out by saying that I enjoyed this episode, but it felt a bit slow.  There are a few storylines to pay attention to now, which is exciting.

One thing I realized that I really enjoy, is seeing the Rebels have to be sneaky to not get caught by the Empire, like Mon Mothma (now that I realize why the name sounded so familiar).

I feel like I never know who to trust in TV shows, so I end up doubting everyone.  I'm trying my best to just believe what each person says instead of thinking that they are playing others for their own good.

Next episode... the heist (since there is always a heist).

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the episode.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

June starts later this week and... it's pretty crazy.  It hasn't really sunk in that soon enough we'll be halfway done the year?! 😨

OH YES!!! Now that you mention Vel, it's obvious where I know her from 😍 I feel like all of Star Wars merits rewatches to pick up all the things that I've missed. Some that I'm not aware of now, but may spot once I finish Clone Wars and Rebels even!

Oh I didn't know she had deleted scenes in RotS!! That's so awesome. The start of a new arc is very different from the end of an arc, feels like a huge difference in storytelling lol I do love how there are multiple character storylines and development happening all at once. It's nice to see all these different stories, which I assume will intersect at some point in the show. I really do want to see what happens to Karn, even though he's on the wrong side... (for now?). I am very interested to see how everything will unfold. No one has it easy in this series so far, the stakes are high all the time

The show is not overtly "easter eggy" but there are a ton of references. They start out the first ISB scene talking about the prison rates in the Ryloth sector increasing. Poor Twi'leks, we've seen them in Clone Wars. There's an increase in shipments going to Scarif, which if you remember from Rogue One, is where the plans for the Death Star were kept. Tons of easter eggs in Luthen's shop but I won't get into those, some spoilers in there but there are some videos out there going over everything there. There's some GoT crossover here (as in a lot of star wars recently). You noticed Anton Lesser (Partigaz/Qyburn from GoT), and Vel looked familiar because she was the older girl that Arya was training with for the Faceless Man.

There's a lot to unpack in this episode. As you know the season is broken into arcs, this is the start of the next arc. A boatload of information to process so its a little different than having people jump into an x-wing and blowing things up.(line stolen from one of the movies.) As you recalled Senator Mon Mothma is part of the Rebellion. Fun fact she is played by Genevieve O'Reilly and she played her in Rouge One but also in Revenge of the Sith. She was featured in a couple of scenes with Bail Organa and Padme Amidala that were ultimately deleted. So she gets to play her 20 years later to reprise her role. You can probably find the scenes on the internet or on an original Revenge of the Sith DVD. I don't recall her back story explored anywhere else so it's great we get to see her here. It appears that at this point the Rebellion is not this fully fleshed out thing yet that we see in Rogue One or in the OT. You see Dedra Murro the ISB officer beginning to put the pieces together. Clearly the ISB would have been talking all about it during that group meeting if the Rebel Alliance was a known thing. At the beginning of the episode its clear Cassian is not all in on rebelling. Stealing stuff from the Empire is one thing but he's clearly not all in. Plus as I mentioned above the Rebellion seems to be getting its stuff together but not there yet. I found it interesting that they kept Inspector Karn in after the botched arrest. Having him humbled and moving back in with mom is not the kind of thing I'd expect in Star Wars, I wonder where this is going if anywhere. The character development is real with this one. There is a reason they are spending so much time on this heist preparation. Just some random thoughts, looking forward to the heist.
