No update from YouTube, Update from Anna and Ben *read until end plz*

We have heard that other creators who have a much larger social footprint, had to wait a few weeks or more for YouTube to step in and help in any meaningful way in similar scenarios. YouTube is going to take the time that they apparently need before they clearly respond to a twitter dm asking for the account to be frozen so that a live stream doesn't hurt innocent people. (I for one had questions from my grandmother asking after the fact if she should donate to the stream tonight.)
This is predatory and wrong. This is a disappointment that not only we are facing in real time, but other creators have gone through. Whether they are channels with larger followings or more importantly channels that haven't ever had the chance to grow due to these complications. It is saddening coming from someone who has been an avid supporter of the platform starting with =3 introducing me to qwop and Cr1TiKaL 14 years ago (charlie the unicorn/shwoop da woop mention)
it is defeating. But what to do now?
Anna and I spent the last 6 hours and 14 minutes since learning about the account being hacked downloading 98% of our channels videos before they were able to take them all down. That is over 1000 videos. If needed, we will upload them all again.
We will continue our release schedule as well for you guys here on Patreon. Monogatari will be released tomorrow as we had previously planned.

Holy shit, just went to search up your channel and was scared when I couldn't find it. Sorry you have to go through this, it was very wise to download your videos. Please be safe, and I hope you get your channel back soon with youtube's help.

Sometimes it helps although realistically you are more of a target than most people. Hope you can get the account back. Not sure if have been able to contact google/youtube but i believe there should be account recovery process

You guys are the best reaction channel and one of the only ones that I truly respect. I always know that I can trust you guys to appreciate the shows I love and find details that I could never possibly find. 2025-05-29 12:49:01 +0000 UTCNot a Youtuber or friends with any so I have no input on that side of things, but as a viewer I've seen this happen to so many channels now. Most, even the smaller ones, have managed to come back with little to no harm to the channel (from an outsider's perspective, I can't comment on channel metrics). These hackers usually seem to private the videos as opposed to mass-deleting them, so hopefully that's also the case here. (Why does Enter post instead of inserting a line-break?!) All that being said, I'm hoping for the best possible outcome for you guys. Also hoping it doesn't take that long for YT to sort it out; I've seen it go both ways there. Sometimes getting signal boosted by a larger channel seems to help, other times not. YT's gonna YT.

I appreciate your communication on this and the commitment to uploading to Patreon in this stressful situation. Keep your hopes up, I've seen smaller Youtubers get their accounts back (eventually). It just takes time because YT is a Big White Monolith that works in mysterious ways and on its own time. Hang in there!
