anatomy of the male horse

A male foal is called a COLT. This term is used for a juvenile male horse under the age of four. A sexually mature male horse is called a STALLION. If he is on active duty as a breeding stallion, he is called a STUD. If he produces a foal, he will be called the SIRE of that foal.
This is Luke. Luke is a GELDING. He was castrated, which in horses is called GELDED. This is done to make an easier riding horse. He is missing the testosterones that are normally produced in the testicles.
What you see in this video is that he "drops". This means he allows his penis to come out of the sheath, the pocket of skin that protects the penis of the horse when it is not in use for urination. I filmed because I thought he was going to pee!
Male horses also drop when they are relaxed. The dropping and sucking it back in helps clean the penis. In domestic horses, the human caretaker occasionally cleans the parts. In this video you can see that he is due. There are little pieces of loose skin hanging of his dick.
Before you ask, this is not my horse and I have nothing to do with his care!
