SUBNAUTICA Part 3!

Alright everyone I think I may need some pointers after this episode, my playthrough feels so messy so far and I'm worried people won't enjoy watching it hahaha. I think I'm just stumbling around into stuff which seems legit for a survival game but let me know if there's anything I'm seriously missing after this episode!

My current plan is to: make a habitat with bigger locker storage, make a propulsion cannon, a laser cutter if I can, go back to the cargo bay (I'm just assuming I can move those boxes in the doorway now!) and have a search for the vehicle blueprint! After I have a vehicle I'll go check out the distress signals and that purple mushroom cavern - is there a timer on those distress signals? Do they die if I don't get there in time?! Overall I am having a lot of fun, I just feel a bit overwhelmed with my to-do lists and keeping myself fed and watered, much like real life with ADHD pahaha. See y'all soon!

Your playthrough is plenty entertaining; not to worry. :) Your plans sound good to me. :) There's no timer on the distress signals; the result is the same, whether you get to them in a minute or a year. :P I have a bit of ADHD myself, so I can relate to the overwhelm of many competing priorities. :)

It's been delightful watching you go through the typical new player process of "oh no, too much stuff! Make lockers! OH NO!! Too many lockers!!! AAAAHHH"

It’s very chill en relaxing to watch you play this, aside from the terrifying sea creatures of course hahaha I hope you’re having fun, I definitely am 😁

Don't worry about this playthrough being "messy", I don't think it's possible for a blind Subnautica Let's Play to be any other way! That's the point of blind Let's Plays, after all (not necessarily messy, but being unprepared). And you're doing much better than many others I've seen, it's been so fun watching you find your bearings in this game, and that's not going to change.

I'm quite impressed with how brave you've been so far. When I first played, I noped the heck out of there a few different times when that big fish spooked me lmao. Your plan sounds good except for one thing. You don't need to wait on getting a vehicle to explore the distress signals. For instance, that very last signal you checked out at the end of the episode - the PDA said it is at 100m. Well you already know you can explore that deep! Often they will lead you nearby to where you can find new blueprints and materials, so you might slow yourself down if you wait on them. That being said, nothing wrong with what you've laid out. As far as messiness goes, you've honestly made really quick progress. I wouldn't worry about that at all. Super enjoyable playthrough!

I have over 500 hours in Subnautica, so trust me when I say you're doing just fine as a newcomer! I'm really enjoying this playthrough so far. Play at your own pace, that's what makes each playthrough unique!

Another really enjoyable episode. I love watching you be scared of the big fishies around the crashed ship but simultaneously being brave and going there anyways! It is what Subnautica does so well. Letting your own mind conjure the fear even though you know damn well that there is something big and dangerous out to get you. The atmosphere & the immersion of the game is superb.

nothing to worry about or be embarrassed about, you're doing great! it is a survival game after all :D just keep doing what you're doing and keep exploring, in my view that's the point of Subnautica :)) can't wait for the next part ☺️🎉

We love watching you play the game your way, so don't worry about it!

David Langston

I can't wait to watch this weekend! It sounds just from your description that you're perfectly on track, you don't have to worry about a thing. Eventually the "big picture" will come into focus, but right now, what you're working on is right on the money. Looking forward to watching you play!

Haven't watched this one yet (still at work lol) but the early part of Subnautica is supposed to be messy. Over time you'll learn stuff and give yourself direction based on that stuff (I'm trying to be vague). Loved the first 2 parts so I can't wait to watch this one.

I think I'm quite ready for another Subnautica episode (read in the voice of old man Bilbo).

uuh long episode, Nice! I recently started this game myself (partly because I wanted to watch your videos without spoiling myself) and I was a mess trying to figure out what to do and how things worked. I think your playthrough so far has been just what anyone would expected from a first time player. As you continue to learn about the game mechanics and make progress in the story you will have more tools to make your own base and tackle this surivival situation in your own way. That's when it gets interesting because the first few hours are probably very similar in every playthrough. So it doesn't matter if so far your playthrough is a bit messy because that's just how Subnautica is, and regardless of how much progress you make in an episode I think you are just fun and entertaining to watch, especially when you're having fun too. That's why we are here :D

Oh I should mention, there is one time when I believe the game will tell you that something will happen in roughly two weeks or so? That's an exception, and isn't a real countdown, it's mostly just to make you feel cautious. (I'm fairly positive anyways, because I got worried and wondered the same thing until I had to look it up, and that was the answer I was given) But like others have stated, there will be a clear time limit and it'll be obvious once it shows up.

Ethan Micallef

Right off the bat, without having seen through the whole episode yet (which I deeply look forward to because these have been great) you seem to be doing fine! There's no time limit unless the game tells you otherwise, overtime the radio will fill you in on crucial story details, exploration and aiming to thrive instead of just survive is a great place to start! And in addition, scanning any other fragments you find to continue expanding your tech. If you're worried it's a mess for us as viewers (well I can't speak to that yet since I haven't watched it yet but) the episodes you've made so far are great on their own! This game is very "feel your way around and get lost a bit", so it's very normal. If, however, you feel like it's a mess and that's hindering your enjoyment, hopefully my feedback and the feedback of others will help you feel more at ease with your play style! Thanks for the new episode!!

Ethan Micallef

Don't worry, everything you've said you're planning on doing is going to get you where you need to be going. Everyone is just a mess of trying to do everything because the game throws so much at you. But don't stress, just take your time. No timer on most of the distress signals, and when there is one you will know it.

The Mighty Pipe

There is only one timed event in the game, and when it happens, the timer will show up on screen (and it is very generous). Other than that, no need to worry about rushing anywhere. :)
