i have conversations with myself about the topic of reverb all the time. men at work's first album "business as usual" (1982) has a lot of reverb but its tasteful. compare that to starship's hit songs "we built this city" (1985) and "nothing's gonna stop us now" (1987) from the kim cattrall movie mannequin. these songs use a much heavier and somewhat metallic sounding reverb provided by the digital reverb units that were new at the time which was typical of the second half of the 1980s. when modern artists make retro 80s throwback songs, they typically invoke the warmer analog sound of early 80s synthpop bc the sound of the late 80s is generally considered to have aged more poorly
i listened to peter gabriel's third album while coloring this. its actually really cool. it helps that kate bush provides backup vocals on a couple tracks. also i really like the drawing of suski in the third panel. it's a weird angle but he looks so babey
