$3 Tier and Patreon Restructuring

Hi! If you were part of the Patreon pre April 2nd and would like a refund, please email me at davidoneacre@gmail.com with the title "Patreon Refund Request". It can be for any reason, even if you just financially need it right now. Make sure you email from the same email attached to your Patreon user. Just wanted to lead with that so it was obvious.

All previous tiers have now been hidden, and will be deleted at the end of the month. I can't manually move anyone over, so you need to switch to the new $3 tier yourself. Sorry for the inconvenience.

What's Happening?

As mentioned in the previous post, I'm restructuring the Patreon to accommodate my full-time schedule. I know it hasn't been very long since I started, but I was quickly realizing that I wouldn't be able to meet the commitments I promised without getting directly in the way of the main channel videos.

I started from the top down with a large amount of promises, when I should started from the bottom up with one basic promise and go from there. A lot of what I listed in the tiers are things that I want to do, but can't on a full-time job.

I don't want anything getting in the way of making videos. I've got too much shit I wanna make and it's already April!

The New $3 Tier

So, the future goal is to someday open up those tiers again, but for now, I can promise at least one thing: a single, $3 all access tier. Access to the Discord channel with updates and behind the scenes is the guarantee, while writings, extra videos, extra streams, and etc. will come as they fit into my schedule.

For those in the $1 tier: I apologize if this prices you out, and you're always welcome to email me for a refund. I created that tier for those who want to support me no matter what -- I was living paycheck to paycheck before 2021, so I know what it's like. But it unfortunately can't be the only tier, and my hope is that the $3 ends up being an extremely good value. I hope you understand.

The one exception is those in the $10 tier -- I will be emailing those people with a doc that retains your access to that content, and removing it from here. That tier has some content that I want to keep extra secret. Everything else, though, will be available to everyone in the $3 tier.

For the Future

This is basically what I should have started with anyways. I've mentioned multiple times that all I wanted was a place to drop updates and behind the scenes without spoiling videos to the greater audience. This takes zero time and I love doing it, so it fits extremely well into my uber busy schedule.

I want to be able to do the extra stuff when I can, I just can't guarantee it. Trust me, I had a whole infrastructure and system built to do this stuff. But if I have to sacrifice video progress or health for it, I shouldn't be promising it.

Someday I want to do the super dope Patreon thing of lots of extra content and close-knit community, but today is not that day. I can't go sacrificing food, hygiene and exercise for this stuff, and I want to keep videos my #1 priority while still building up to the potential of supporting myself entirely off Doodley, and paying people what their worth for their help.

Thank you as always for supporting me in my quest to show everyone how absolutely dope animation is. I look forward to all the stuff we'll make together in 2023 and beyond!
