I'm trying to "simplify" how I render my pieces since I fear lately I have tried in vain to add a lot what ended up feeling like superfluous or "muddying" detail, which was essentially just me swinging above my belt skill wise. I kept wrestling with how some of my pieces turned out in the end but now that I'm dialing it back and keeping things more simple, the more content I am with the art that I make. Perhaps in the future I can try my hand once more at chiaroscuro but for now I simply hope you guys like this new take at coloring. ♡
Hope it isn't too much whiplash to change the rendering style mid way through this comic lmao. (ᵕ—ᴗ—) pls let me know.

I'm not observant enough to see the struggles you were having with your recent rendering style, but if you're happier with the art you're making now, then that's what we want! Your old Janebelle and Zhuyabi art is what brought me here in the first place, so no complaints here about falling back to a previous rendering style, haha. Still very pleased to be seeing the continuation of these two, my favorite gaybies. Simpler coloring aside, Nicole's emotions are communicated really well in this page. She looks so discombobulated in the second panel going turning nervous excitement as Belle's text comes through. Her eyes are so expressive in that final panel! Thank you for continuing to share your lovely art here with us. Looking forward to another year ( っ˶´ ˘ `)っ
