The Great Tree Clearing: Collaboration with Neutral Party
Added 2020-05-16 15:30:01 +0000 UTCI've been itching to do a collaboration with Alex of Neutral Party since I first started Music d20. He's one of the OGs of RPG map makers on Patreon, and his work is always stellar. Luckily, we finally found a time and theme that worked, so today I bring you our collaboration: The Great Tree Clearing!
Alex's map is perfect for Fey or other woodland encounters, and personally, I can't help but be reminded of Kokiri Forest. Maybe this is just a stopping point while you talk with some dryads, or maybe this is where you duke it out with some territorial eladrin. I've attached day and nighttime maps of the clearing, both gridded and ungridded. At this point, it's hard for me to imagine any of you haven't come across Neutral Party's Patreon, but if you haven't yet, I highly recommend checking it out if you need some gorgeous maps for your campaigns.
My track "Greenleaf" is clearly Fey inspired. I've written about this before, but beyond just "trees and beauty," I always like to interpret the Feywild as being weirdly dangerous and full of illusions and enchantments. This track plays up that element first and foremost; twinkling bells and wooshing strings give a dreamlike impression. When you return from the Feywild, I wouldn't blame you if you question whether you ever went there at all. You can easily slot this track in for dream sequences, enchanted forests, or anything else that's equal parts nature and magic.
