Introducing: Music d20 Player

It's finally here!

After a lot of toying around, I finally have the playback app ready for use! As it stands, Music d20 Player could very well be the only app you app need to tackle all of your in-game RPG music. Here's a quick rundown of how it works:

Currently, Music d20 Player works on PC, Mac, and Linux. Grab the file from the link above, unzip it, install it, and then load up the app from the start menu or finder (or however the hell it works on Linux). When you fire up Music d20 Player for the first time, click "folder" and then select the location of all your Music d20 mp3s. I've been sneakily tagging all of the mp3s you've downloaded with potential genres / uses for each track, so the app will automatically populate with the various tags it finds. These are just single word descriptions in the "comments" section of its id3 tags.

If you want to tweak these custom "playlists," all you have to do is edit the mp3s (on PC, that's right click -> Properties -> Details -> Comments).  This means you could add a category called "ninjas" or "astral plane" or whatever and tag any mp3s you want, including stuff by other artists. Alternatively, you could remove the tags of any track that you'd want to exclude from a given playlist, or thereby remove a playlist altogether.

As of right now, I'm aware of 3 mistakes I've made in the track tagging:

I'd recommend fixing those just to clean up the look of the app, but it's your call.

Beyond that, the app should be very self-explanatory. Click the category you want, and it'll shuffle through the available options. Pause, rewind, fast-forward, and the volume slider all work as expected. The app is easily resizable, and you can select a specific track in a given category by clicking the 3 lines.

This app was developed by my good friend Romey Sklar, who, in addition to being a successful programmer, is a super talented singer songwriter. Please check out his music on Spotify or wherever else you stream. If you have any positive things to say, drop them in the comments, and I'll let him know. Please do let me know if you run into any problems using the app, and we'll try to get it sorted out ASAP.

Drop questions in the comments and I'll try to help you sort it out.
