EP240. Container Ships and Crocodiles; navigating the perils of Panama on a wooden sailboat!

In this episode we make it to the entrance of the Panama Canal, sailing past crocodiles and container ships along the way, and then I get to work replacing one of Tally Ho's hybrid motors.

Capt. Leo, Per usual, great job. Hard to believe it's been so many years following you, Slainte!

John

Leo, have you seen anything about the reported issues with Battleborn batteries? Will Prowse's YouTube channel has some disturbing findings with some of them. I know you have them in your system and you may want to inspect them closely.

John Martin

Absolutely superb episode. Wonderful wildlife photography and technically clear and very interesting insight into the hybrid drive system. Leo is the Master of all Trades.

If I recall correctly, doesn't the system have a feature to recharge under sail by letting the prop turn from that forward motion? Does that actually work in practice or not very useful? I am assuming it still needs the electric motors working for that as well.

Matthew Pitts

Wonderful nature photography along the way. Thanks!

Great episode Leo. Good luck with the rest of the transit. Don't forget, if you make it to Cayman, there's a dinner waiting for you and the crew. Cheers David P.
