15/07 Devlog update

After spending a lot of time going over many ideas on how the gameplay is going to work, I've finally come to a place I feel satisfied. Essentially, rather than being a wrestling game in the traditional sense, Project Joshi is now an RPG-based wrestling game .Here's a quick update on how the turn-based system works.

The 'Move Selection' is where you navigate to the move you want your character to use. Moves are divided into categories by Type, Situation and Favourites. When a category is hovered over, the details box to the right gets updated with a brief description detailing its contents.

Once a move is selected, the details panel once again gets updated and its stats are displayed. This also turns into a two-page window to display all the inofrmation needed.

To the left of the Move Selection panel is the Step panel. This is where you place the moves you wish to use in order for your character to perform. To add a move to the list, click on any of the step buttons.

Each move in Project Joshi is assigned a type, The 'Chop' move is a strike type. Each move type is colour-coded to make identifcation easier. The types are: Power - Red, Strike - Blue, Technical - Turquoise, Submission - Purple, Speed - Orange, Crowd - Pink.

Not only is the order in the step panel customizable by choosing whichever order you wish the moves to be performed in, but it's also possible to increase the number of turns your character has by pressing the plus icon.

This will open up a blank canva sfor you to then start the next chain of moves your character will perform in the match. This can be used multiple times.

What this is also means is that you can switch between each selection and all of your numbered selections will be saved. So you can select which moves you want to use during the match at any time, and go back and change whenever you please. You can decide upon the match finish before the middle of the match has even been decided upon for example.

There's a lot more on-screen that hasn't beeen explained as well as off-screen. Thanks for reading and please stick around for more on Project Joshi's progress!
