Master feedback for Matt

In this video we go over two masters that have already been through a mastering engineer. The topic of loudness and saturation comes up in a master and I use two saturation boxes to figure out what the problem could be.

Ian Shepherd seems like a brilliant guy

Thanks for that input Jurgen!

Hi Matt, it depends where you want to sell your tracks. You mentioned Beatport, the store is mostly for DJs playing the music in clubs, so the track can be mastered very loud between-6 and -8 LUFS. On Playlists from Spotify the loudness is -14 LUFS. Spotify and other streaming services bring all the tracks to the same level, that the listener does not have to change the volume. I would recommend not to master the track with -14 LUFS. Especially for dance tracks nowadays the limited sound is part of the genre. I think about -8 LUFS is a good value. If you want to check, how your track will be limited from the different streaming services you can check the loudness penalty website and upload your track https://www.loudnesspenalty.com. Btw. I like your mastered songs.
