I'm glad you loved it! If you look up about the actual performers, they're amazing & so talented. This is actually the cut version - after the test performances, the ones who were the 'test audience' reacted so negatively that about 30 minutes were then cut out & some new footage made to extend the new runtime. A New York theater prided itself upon release that they were showing the uncensored version. Unfortunately, those 30 minutes of cut footage are lost. One of the new scenes I'm pretty sure is the ending reunion scene, which is why the quality looks different. A scene cut shows Hercules' new act, which is as a castrato singer (puberty already happened, but suspension of disbelief. Karmic castration considering his priorities). And as he sings, you hear Cleo squawking. For Cleo, she was turned into the 'Duck Woman'. How? Specifically what they did: gouged out one eye, cut out her tongue & damaged her vocal cords, cut & burned/melted the skin of her fingers to form 'webbed hands', amputated her lower half, finishing by permanently tarring & feathering her torso. Harry Earles (Hans) was also a member of the Lollipop Guild munchkins in 'The Wizard of Oz' while Daisy Earles (Frieda) was known as the 'midget Mae West'. They, with their other 2 sisters (all 4 are siblings), actually all lived together in one house until they died. While filming, the Earles, the Hiltons (Daisy & Violet conjoined twins), & like a few others had dressing rooms & stuff. But staff felt too uncomfortable seeing the other 'freaks', so they were forced to live in a tent on the studio lot. You look up the reviews at the time it came out & they're so disgusting. You'll just be like 'Wow. F**k you guys.' While modern reviews & opinions since it became a cult classic are a lot more thoughtful. Movies with Marty, OGB Reacts, & Flix Talk all have reactions to it up on Youtube. (I actually am a patron of Marty, so his reaction is what introduced me to the film & watch it for the first time ever just like a month ago). But yeah it's so good & I truly like all the characters. I mean, I hate Cleo & Hercules obviously. But their actors, ESPECIALLY Olga Baclanova, did a great job acting. Angelo Rossitto (dwarf peering through the windows) is one of my favorites simply for how talented he is with emotional acting - everything with those eyes.
