So, I finally caught up - I am working on a video on what the last three books cover - short answer to that is - it'd deal with Laconia, and the protomolocule stuff. The books followed the same basic story for seasons 5 & 6, but yes, the show was rushed, and ultimately suffered for it.

2025-07-29 10:39:00 +0000 UTCI do not know if you are still posting "cut down" versions of your reactions on Youtube, but if you are then you might want to cut out the part where you were hoping that Drummer would die in the episode. It will save you a massive amount of flak. Camina Drummer is a fan favourite and a lot of people feel almost love for the character. When you see clips of her on panels at conventions she is clearly one of the most popular. It is not just her great beauty, or that her "gothic makeup" is so striking, it is also the character herself and what she has done. She stood with Fred Johnson instead of the "rebels" and she had no hesitation in executing those murderers who tried to take over Medina station. She almost critically injured herself and needed to grow a new spine when she freed Ashford to give the station a commander. Then she was going to throw herself on the rising suit of armour while holding grenades to give Holden a chance to get to the command deck. She always tried to look strong, but there were moments when you saw how emotionally fragile she could be behind the icy mask. When she cracked and was holding onto Naomi Nagata while cursing her, that was a deeply emotional moment. I think you were rolling your eyes during that scene, as you had already "disengaged" with series 6 of The Expanse before then. This is NOT a criticism of you as I had also lost much interest by this point. I had watched series 6 twice and the only things I could really remember was Drummer talking to Naomi and Holden's final speech to the UN. So I'm not blaming you for not being invested in Drummers character. I am just trying to help you avoid those fans on Youtube who take Science Fiction a bit too seriously, and we do have them in our "fandom." Like you, I love the first 3 series and will stick to them when I watch this again. I have watched those first series 7+ times already. They are a fine creation and it is worth having to endure the later series to have seen those episodes.
