The Summer I Turned Pretty 3X2: Last Christmas
Added 2025-11-07 17:00:15 +0000 UTCBelly tries making sense out of Jeremiah's betrayal, while Jeremiah anguishes over the prospect of losing her.
Conrad faces a professional crisis and consequence as well, while deciding he can't be part of Susannah's memorial in Cousins and that Jeremiah should give its dedication speech.
Taylor and Steven are caught in the middle and also having their own disagreement—which triggers a devastating consequence.
Flashbacks reveal it hasn’t been years since Belly last saw Conrad—they accidentally ran into each other at Cousins last Christmas, secretly.
After accepting that Jeremiah had reason to believe they were broken up and he swears never to stray again, Belly reconciles with him and accepts his marriage proposal.
****WTF. These two are getting married? This is never going to work out. Conrad is totally gonna break up this wedding somehow, right?

Personally, I think Belly and Jere were broken up, but it reminds me of the Rory/Logan cheating story. They had a fight, Logan thought it was a breakup, Rory thought it was a fight. Although personally, I think that one leans more toward breakup cause with the show timeline, I'm not sure how Rory thought it was just a fight if they weren't speaking for 3 weeks. That's a long time to have literally no exchange of words with a person you're in a long-term relationship with. But I got off track there, anyway it reminds me of that in the sense that like Jere didn't think he was cheating but it still felt like cheating to Belly and both can be true. Belly builds up her big secret like it rivals Jere sleeping with Lacey and not telling her, but then the secret is just that she was alone with Conrad at the beach house and they did a crossword and watched movies. One of those things is not like the other, but Belly talks about it like they're on the same level. Question from last episode - in the books you were asking about Jere losing his virginity. In the books, Belly and Jere are together 2 years when we start book 3 and Belly is a virgin (never had sex with Conrad like she did on the show), but Jere wasn't a virgin. He wasn't super happy about not having sex in a 2 year long relationship, but a minor thing really until they had the fight (I don't remember it being as clear a breakup in the book but that could be cause it was Belly retelling it). He went to Cabo, hooked up with Lacey (the girl in the show), and never told Belly, but Lacey wasn't his first time. In the book, Jere proposes as a way to prove his loyalty to Belly or it comes off that way, like "I'm sorry and I'll prove it, marry me" and she accepts so they can sweep it under the rug. In the show, they added the Stephen, life is too short aspect and made it a spontaneous proposal. The other big change is that the time jump was 4 years in the show, so instead of Belly being a freshman, she's a junior.
