There's zero chance Rebekah is actually gone, right? I feel like maybe Klaus will let her come back after his little reminiscing of the toys? Or she decides she wants to be there for the baby? I don't know, but she's not gonna just leave the show 2/3 of the way into the first season.
Anyway, Klaus is busy trying to kill Rebekah with the white oak stake, but Elijah has decided that he'll have to deal with him instead. The whole episode is really just Klaus going, 'admit you wanted me dead!' and Rebekah going 'no, I just wanted you to leave!' Seriously. But she keeps calling Marcel with updates and Elijah keeps trying to reason with Klaus. It was pretty repetitive. I thought it was all well done, but we only needed, like, half of it.
So Klaus has the white oak stake, and Elijah has the dagger (that he's already used on Klaus before). Klaus tells him if he uses it on him again, he'll be in the same place with him Rebekah is. They tussle a bit and then Elijah ends up with the stake. Klaus tells him he can use it if he wants. But, Elijah tosses it away, claiming he won't kill him. He'll dagger him if need be, but he won't kill him. They fight again and Klaus ends up with the dagger and he goes ahead and sticks it into Elijah, who is now convulsing in pain on the ground.
However, Rebekah comes over with the stake that she retrieved after Elijah tossed it away. And she is not holding it tightly. I yelled at her a lot about it. And she should have listened to me since not long after, Klaus gets it from her. And he goes ahead and stabs her with it. But in the stomach, so she's fine.
That seems to pave the way for some healing. They talk about their father turned them into broken creatures. He tells Rebekah she's free to live. He won't follow her. Have the life she wants, but she's got to go.
She says her goodbyes to Elijah and Hayley. And then Marcel (They decide he loves New Orleans more than he loves her so he's going to stay. Huh?). And off she drives, happily, to wherever she's going (Before I assume she comes back. Maybe she'll go hang out with Matt for a bit).
When Klaus gets back to the compound, Marcel is ready to fight, but Klaus doesn't have it in him. However, Elijah does. He tosses Marcel across the courtyard and tells him he's exiles from the quarter. Then he kicks all the other vampires out of the compound and tells them they don't live here anymore. We've seen this Elijah before, but I'm not sure why he's here now. Maybe he's just weak and in pain from being stabbed with Papa Tunde's knife.
While this is all going on, Marcel is trying to deal with Davina, who's in bad shape. The witches hate her for working with him and while she was gone, all they did was torment her. She doesn't want to use her magic. And Marcel ends up trading to the witches for one of them bringing down the spell at the graveyard. I'm not that excited about this. I was until we had all the other stuff going on.
