Callie! You really can't help yourself, can you? I know you are trying to do the right thing, but you can't break into other people's houses to do it! Plus, it's 100% not safe for you.
So, we're busy packing up the house, since we need to be out in a week. We still don't have anywhere to go, and Stef and Lena are stressed and snippy with each other. During a sit down, they find a pot pipe, and all the kids deny that it's theirs. They also tell his they are filing for divorce. More on that after we backtrack 36 hours.
Stef and Lena are fighting, the relator and the contractor are traipsing through the house. Stef is demanding they find somewhere to live, but Lena doesn't think anywhere is good enough. Well, of course it's not, but right now, you just need anything so you're not homeless in 7 days. Eventually, Stef decides to put a deposit down on an apartment in Mike's building. It's only three bedrooms, but it's a month to month rental, so as soon as they find something better, they can move. Lena, is, of course, upset that Stef did this without talking to her (because why would they do that?) Now, to be fair, I think Stef is right just this one time. They have 7 people in their family. 5 of them are kids in school. They cannot be homeless.
While packing up, Jesus and Mariana find an old journal of Stef's. Jesus browses it briefly and then snaps it shut, telling Mariana not to read it. She holds off for a couple of minutes, but then gets absorbed in it. We find out later that the journal claimed they didn't actually want to adopt them, and Mariana is pissed. She's now glad that they're moving because between Nick and this, she doesn't think the house holds any happy memories for her anymore.
Callie and Aaron tell the adults everything they've learned about Kyle's case. And it seems promising. All they need is some DNA evidence (someone else's DNA had also been on the murder weapon) and the JJC might reopen the case. But, of course, Callie has to be extra about it. Instead of waiting and trying to do things the right way, she breaks into his house and steals his toothbrush. As she's leaving, she sees him in the house. She skirts around him and breaks for the door. She doesn't get physically caught, but the guy totally sees her and watches her drive away. And then, hangs out and stalks the house at the end of the episode.
Noah wants to take his and Jude's relationship a little further, sexually, but Jude isn't ready. Noah seems uncomfortable when Jude turns him down and leaves. However, later, they talk about it and decide they only want to do things the other person feels comfortable with. I'm cool with that.
While all this is happening, Brandon is in NYC for his audition. He meets up with this girl who basically convinces him to break up with Courtney. He writes her a letter and mails it right before his audition so he can do it with a clear head. He thinks he nailed the audition and flies right home. There is zero chance that letter doesn't spark a crazy amount of drama. However, while he's telling Stef and Lena how the audition went, he sees movement in the garage. When they go to check it out, they find Jude and Noah out there getting stoned. Fun.
Then we come full circle and find out that Lena and Stef are filing for divorce so they can freeze their assets. Turns out, Lena's mom figured out the money situation for herself so now they don't have to sell the house (but, you know, it's already sold). They are hoping the frozen assets are tied up long enough for the buyer to get frustrated and back out.
Oh, and Mariana is still in bad shape. She's still taking Jesus' pills and in a huge amount of stress and pain. I just really want someone to help her!
