The Vampire Diaries 5X15: Gone Girl

I don't know what the hell happened to Katherine at the end of this episode. Did she just get dragged off to hell? If so, why doesn't that happen to more people. All these dying supernatural creatures can't all be too good for hell, right?

So Nadia is busy dying, and rather than ask Klaus for his blood, Katherine decides the better option would be to let Wes figure it out. (Why can't we just get Tyler's blood? What am I missing here?). Katherine has decided to be the best mother ever now that her daughter is dying and refuses to allow this to happen. But, everyone else has just figured out that Elena is Katherine, so she's got to deal with that as well.

Everyone is trying to lure Katherine to the boarding house so they can stab her with the Travelers' knife and free Elena. But, she's figured out what's going on. She confirms it by calling Damon and when he invites her to come over, she knows she's been made. There was no way Damon would risk Elena by allowing her around him in his current state. She decides to go check on Wes to see what he's up to with Nadia's cure.

However, in the meantime, Damon has tricked Tyler into coming close enough to him in the cell and is able to bite him. He uses the hybrid blood to replenish him enough to escape and heads over to Wes's himself. When he gets there, I think he's going to look for a cure for himself, but instead he just quickly and brutally murders the doctor. And it's shortly after that, that Katherine shows up and finds Wes dead. She's sobbing about it, when she finds his tape recorder and finds out that he didn't even try to find a cure. He just used Nadia's blood to make a stronger ripper injection.

Around this time, Stefan calls her to tell her that he's got Nadia back at the house. She can either run, or come back to tell her daughter good bye for the last time. And she chooses to go. She watches over Nadia while she dies, and after she's grieved for all of 90 seconds, she starts in on everyone in the room. She tells them all they would have had shitty lives without her and she's basically not sorry for anything she's ever done. Finally, Stefan stabs her with the knife, and now it's just a waiting game.

He and Damon are watching over Elena waiting for her to come back, when Stefan asks Damon what his plan is. He says, just tell her the truth and hope it all works out.

Katherine has 'passed over' and approaches Bonnie in the church she's in. She's claims she's almost ready to go, but she needs to tell Bonnie about the last shitty thing she did before she died. Since she needs to get one more fuck you in to Elena, she grabbed the super strong werewolf venom ripper injector and injected it into herself. So, when Elena wakes up, she'll be herself, but ready to feast on the house full of vampires. Bitch. But, then, when she's ready to actually go, nothing happens. Bonnie doesn't understand and then suddenly, Katherine is just dragged away into the darkness.

Back at the boarding house, Elena wakes up and the brothers (and her) are relieved that she's back to herself. But, she pulls the syringe out of her side and seems to realize that something is wrong.

Okay. At least it seems like we've got some options here. We can feed her some, but not all of another vampire's blood, maybe Tyler can give us hybrid blood (it worked to quench Damon for a good bit), perhaps the doppelgänger in Elena will make it work differently. Things aren't great, but it doesn't feel like all hope is lost right now.
