I so wish I could remember what 'Clark' told Martha his job was way back in S1. Do you guys remember? I feel like it's something like he's watching the government to make sure they don't give up trade secrets or something? Remind me?
So, I'm not 100% sure what's going on with the anti-apartheid stuff. But, we lit Venter on fire and that scared the hell out of the young kid. He immediately spilled all the tea. And, his information was correct. They retrieve the un-exploded bomb from his room. Philip argues they should let him live. The South African guy argues the opposite. And, surprise, surprise (at least to me) Elizabeth sides with Philip. They decide to let him go (Not that they tell him that. They just untie him and drive away).
Meanwhile, Martha is busy trying to withstand questioning from Taffet. I think she does a pretty good job (but I've never been in this situation, so who knows?). He's also questioning the new guy (his name starts with an 'A' but that's all I've got. I like him. I hope he sticks around. And finally he totally doesn't blame Gaad for not having cameras in his office to see the comings and goings. π
However, after this, Martha goes home and Clark shows up. He's in a pretty jovial mood, despite the fact that he had a shitty day. Martha is not waiting around. She immediately asks him who he really is (again, see above for the best recollection I have of his job). She tells him they found the pen and things are not going great. He insists he loves her. He didn't plan to fall in love with her, but he did. He promised to protect her at all costs. She does not seem to love this, but for the time being is going along with it. They fall asleep in the same bed (well sort of, neither of them seem to be sleeping), but are very estranged from one another. Great, so now both of his wives are annoyed with him.
Back in Russia, Nina, having done a good job with her previous assignment, is given only 10 years left on her sentence. She's not thrilled. I 100% would have been. I assumed she was going to be executed. Now she's only got 10 years til freedom? Seems like a win to me. Regardless she's told that if she can get the same info out of the scientist that she got out of Evi, she's free to go. They show her to a new room that has the basics, but is a zillion steps up from the cell she was just in. However, her first interaction with the scientist doesn't go that well. He doesn't really want anything to do with her. It's going to be an uphill battle, I'd imagine.
Also, I feel very certain that the mail robot is going to play a big part going forward. We've already got it 'hiding' the classified documents. Now, whatever Gaad wants is stuck. Then he beats the hell out of it. Martha's got the keys for it. I don't know. But it really seems like it setting up for something soon.
Oh, and Paige looked up Gregory at the library. She's conflicted about whether or not he was a good guy based on the fact that he was arrested for drug possession. I may be super biased, but I barely consider drugs to be a crime. If that's all you've got on a person, you've got nothing.
