Okay, so I'm still not sure how much of this was Jane acting, and how much of it was the truth. I think all the flashbacks actually happened, but was he actually getting dizzy and falling over, or just taking breaks to hang out and wait for the gardener?
So, we've got a dead scout, who pretty much everyone only had good things to say about. However, the parents of these teenagers are god awful. I'm so glad that my parents weren't like this. But, anyway, this guy scouts young kids and gets them signed to major league contracts (for a commission fee of course). While we're trying to conduct a murder investigation, the parents are just busy complaining that their kids aren't playing enough baseball. Hello. The man is dead.
We find out that the guys three year old died about a year ago. He threw himself into his work and just tried to move forward. But his wife just spiraled into misery. (Not that I blame her). However, he left her shortly after (they are still married though) and she gets a ton of money if he dies, so she looks like a suspect. She's been mixing booze and pills though, so she isn't really sure of where she was or what she was doing the night he died. But, eventually, we get her cleared.
Jane, who get hit in the head with a baseball shortly after they arrived, is acting all kinds of strange. He gets knocked out and starts having flashbacks of growing up a traveling circus where he did his mind reading act for money. However, when his dad (is that guy is dad?) wanted to scam a girl who was dying of cancer, he starts to feel bad. In the end, he does it because he's cut off from his dad (or whoever this role model is), and he doesn't want to be alone, but he does not feel good about it. This makes sense given the large amounts of money that he's given away to people who need it.
For a little while, Jane thinks it might be the guy's partner, as he ends up with the entire business if the guy dies. But it doesn't last long, and Jane dismisses him. Finally, he decides to talk to the gardener (who runs away when Cho tries to question him- I think he was undocumented maybe?) who says he overheard a fight between the dead guy and one of the kids a few hours before he died.
Long story short, the dead guy found out that one of the kids was actually 22 while pretending to be 17. He was going to make the kid leave. And the dad found out, and beat him to death with a bat. I told you these parents are insane. Plus, while he's getting arrested for murder, his dad is still yelling at the partner to get his kid in front of a scout. They do come to an understanding and they end up allowing the 22 year old a shot.
