The Americans 2X6: Behind the Red Door

Okay, so Elizabeth and Philip meet with Larrick to determine if he killed Leanna and Emmett. He claims he didn't, but he wanted to; someone just beat him to it. However, he also tells them that they don't have any actually evidence and are just fishing. However, he does tell them about Martial Eagle (I think that's what it was called?) and they are intrigued, so they decide to keep him around to see if they can find out anymore information about it. And then kill him later.

After they meet up with the new Claudia (I've really gotta learn this girl's name), she tells them that Martial Eagle (we're just gonna go with that name) is a training base for Nicaraguans. The KGB wants them to infiltrate the camp and assassinate some of them (I don't remember who). However, the easiest way for them to get access to the camp (whose location isn't going out until, like, the day before people are due to show up; is Larrick. Which means, we'd have to expose ourselves to him. But since he's worked with the KGB before, maybe it'll turn out okay?

Eventually, Philip follows Larrick to a bar and waits patiently while he sex with a guy under some stairs. Afterwards, he pulls a gun on Larrick, who claims he knew they weren't CIA. I don't think he explicitly states it, but it seems like he knows Philip and Elizabeth are KGB.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth is tasked with getting a file out of the office of the congressman that Lucia is working over. She seduces him to distract him while Elizabeth breaks into the office and takes pictures of the files. Later, she meets up with Lucia and tells her it's time to kill the congressman. She's not thrilled about it, but argues with Elizabeth that she knows how to do her job.

Later, she meets up with him and they intended to do heroin together, but she distracts him long enough to put something in with the drugs. Then, insists he goes first. When he tries to get her to join him, she tells him she just wants to watch. Soon after, he's foaming at the mouth and chokes to death.

Oleg has told Stan what he wants in exchange for Nina's safety. And it's all the FBI logs on him. Who's watching him, when, and where. Stan copies out the info with the intent to give it to him (I suppose), but we don't see the outcome of that in this episode. However, Stan does approach Gaad, telling him that Nina's been compromised and what should he do. Gaad refuses to help claiming he's got enough issues because of Stan already. (Still not sure what he's on about. Is this about him killing that guy who was gonna assassinate the World Bank leaders?)

Stan tells Nina that she's been compromised and in order to be released from the service of the FBI (if I understood that correctly) she needs to take a polygraph test. It's not that doesn't trust her, it's just FBI protocol. However, she's pissed about this. She gets up claims she's done with all of this and storms out. I'm sure her boss could give her some tips on how to pass, right?

Claudia tells Elizabeth that if Larrick isn't the guy, they should look into her next. Apparently, she got friendly with someone and told them the truth about her life. She can't imagine they would say or do anything, but now this has happened, so she can't be sure. I give her a lot of credit for telling the truth on that. Maybe it's to prevent a worse fate down the line, but it would have been so easy to keep her mouth shut about it.

Also, we've got Elizabeth desperate for some Clark role play. It is weird as hell (to me, no kink shaming) to want your husband to have sex with you as the husband of his other wife. And it seems Philip thinks so too, as he's not really into it. But she keeps pushing him until he finally relents. He yanks her over, rips her underwear off, and plows into her a half dozen times. Immediately afterwards, she starts crying. And he runs into the bathroom to rip his Clark hair off. I have no idea if that's actually how Clark has sex or if he was just trying to give her what she thought she wanted (which she clearly didn't). Either way, they make up later.
